The mobile phone service on Ryanair flights was a trial and has been discontinued. They could not agree terms with the supplier.

It didn't work most of the time anyway when they were running it. Imagine being crammed into a giant pringles can; and having some knob sitting next to you yapping all the way through the flight about his most intimate details of his personal life for 2 or 3 hours.

    Full service Airlines FTW!

At the prices charged by companies that supply mobile service on flights I doubt anyone would be 'yapping all the way through the flight about his most intimate details of his personal life for 2 or 3 hours.'

I was extremely unhappy when they introduced mobile service on Ryanair flights because I feared just that - people yapping away all the time. To my pleasant surprise, it was not the case. If anything, the service kept them busy texting, not yapping away to their mate in the next seat. The plane got quieter...

i was never a fan of the calls but sms / data was always a bit plus for me!
