When I was in Chicago, this black guy said to me "So, do you drink Guinness?". I replied; "Do you eat KFC?".

Not really a racist, but it's hard to beat a good racist joke.

The secret is to say that you're prejudiced against all races.

How does that make him racist? He's just using a stereotype like the black chap did.

On a more serious note, I don't think Irish people are generally racist. I've never heard from a black Irish person (that was born and raised in Ireland I mean) that they've experienced racist slurs or anything like that. Obviously the recession is affecting people's opinions on non-nationals, particularly Nigerians - we all hear the comments of Nigerians not working, cheating the social welfare system, etc. (Which could very well be true, or not.)

Irish people just don't like seeing non-nationals being taken care off when there are Irish people suffering. It has nothing to do with skin colour, but where a person is from; there is a difference obviously.

Yes, I drink Guinness, it's just a mere coincidence that I'm also Irish.

Not in the slightest bit racist.

    However

The tinkers really get my goat </rabblerabble>

Also, anyone who took your jobs, I guess I got a problem with them. Though they probably took your jobs on the basis of meritocracy.

I'm not racist at all, I don't think.

There are definitely some people who live up to poor stereotypes (the rude/arrogant black women, etc.) but sure you'll find that in every race.

There's an extremely racist woman living near me, who seems to love giving abuse to any black people around the place. That said, though, I haven't seen her around in a while. Hopefully she moved.

To be honest, I'd be the kinda person that gets quite uncomfortable when someone makes a racist comment in my presence.

To a certain degree we are all racists!
What bogs me is what some people define as racism; telling another white person to go back home isn't racism!! Can't remember the word for it but it's definitely not racism :)

What I love is the auld race card, everyone bar white caucasians get one and get to use it when they like.

Amazingly enough I can't accuse a non-white person in Ireland of being a racist or lodge a complaint with the Gardai against them.

I'm not racist. Some of my best bus drivers are black.

Yes. Most people are in one way or another even if they are unable to admit it. People are tribal it's in our genes.

I work with a lot of different nationalities and they are all nice people. But as soon as i dislike a person from another nationality i become racist in many peoples eyes. Just because i dislike or have an issue with one black person say, doesn't make me racist. And i do dislike certain people like black women , sleazy Pakistani / Indian men, travellers. I also hate white social welfare merchants. I actually hate a lot of people.

Yes, but like all racists, I also hate myself.

I hate when non nationals talk really loud and start shouting in their own language and act like they own the place.
