Honda C-RV or Pug 307 SW

I'm in the market for a practical spacious family car that can double as a practical tool carrying commericalish vehicle in the evenings and weekends.

So far I have narrowed my search down to a Peugeot 307 SW or a Honda C-RV, the C-RV is probably the better vehicle for my needs but as they only come in a minimum of 2.0l I'm worried about the fuel consumption (I already have a 5 series gas guzzler, love it, but don't want another one)

Does anyone have a C-RV? What real world consumption do they return? Are there any issues with them or anything I should be aware of to look out for?

I'm going to look at THISone in Brady's Castleknock, what do you think this is worth? I'm thinking 6K myself.

Is the Peugeot worth considering? I haven't heard anyone complain about them, they seem pretty reliable, they come with a decent trim level don't cost the earth to run.

Also any other suggestions are also welcomed.

Sorry to be bumping this thread, I posted it last night and it fell off page one fairly quickly.

Does anyone out there have any first hand experience with the day to day running costs of a C-RV? specifically the MPG and the servicing costs? is there anything to look out for specifically with them?

I kindof like Peugeot but the 307 has horrendous reliability problems. Do a search on them.

I would take a CRV over one any day.

You can search honestjohn or parkers or carsurvey.org on both models.

At a general level though, Honda are reliable, with slightly expensive parts.
The 307 has recurring problems with electronics including central locking, catalytic converter faults, ABS, anti pollution, general dash electrics etc.

I would say the extra costs in running a 2.0 CRV over a 1.4/1.6 307 would be easily negated by having to fix any problems the pug throws at you.

That's kid of what I'm thinking, so far Parkers and Honest John have been very favourable towards the C-RV, I'm guessing that Honda's legendary engine reliability includes the C-RV too.

It's a MPG figure of about 30+ that I'm hoping for.

    Thanks for the feedback
