I was just talking to groinshot there, he said if you have queries at all, you should PM him, he'll be more than happy to assist but feels like he's showing off his no doubt superior knowledge of trinity hall when everyone's asking him questions on this!

He's also a volunteer in Niteline, the student's version of Samaritans, so he can also help you if you have any other non-halls related concerns!

Personally I had a very bad time in 1st year, and Groinshot was the only one I felt I could turn to as he was so approachable! I hope he'll help all of ye in the same enthusiastic manner!

Also, if you need some access to some private trackers he's your man.

Around the reception, first floor is all I can say aout it.

Sligobrewer, and vladglenin, just cos you had your fair share of roblems, (most of them related to the inability to "get it up" to quote sligobrewer)

There's ethernet-no wireless in the modern accom. POSSIBLE, yes, PROBABLE no. There's two ways to do it, one is get IS services to unblock it for you,(which the won't) the other you can figure out for yourself

I'll assume it's possible to connect a laptop to the internet in the modern rooms? So couldn't you just connect an xbox to the laptop via ethernet and use internet connection sharing to allow the xbox to connect using the laptop's connection?

Nope. You need an ethernet port to connect the laptop to the internet in your room anyway (wired only) so unless you have two ports, that isn't happening.

The only way to get xbox live in halls is to buy your own internet, not use the free Trinity internet. The Trinity Firewall blocks everything, including Divx and stuff, and you can't do anything about it..

There are rules regarding everything..
But I'd say put up what ever you want, and just take it down when they check the rooms once a semester. That's what we did.

Will this be okay, yeah? Because there are ways of putting things up without tearing the paint off... and I don't think I can stare at those blank walls for a year...

if they don't know, they don't care.
And even if you tear the paint off, you'll probably get away with it anyway... you'd be amazd, you can stare at them,y ou get used to, adn forget about them, after about two weeks

I had loads of posters up all year. Just take some of them down when the room inspections happen and ye'll be grand. It's no big deal really!
