Retracting a voluntary redundancy offer

My employer has proposed that I reduce my working week to 3 days or else take an offer of voluntary redundancy. Four days after the offer, my boss called me into a meeting to say that the company had landed a big contract and they would like me to carry out some work on the job.

He didn't imply that the offer was revoked nor did I ask. The reduced working week wasn't due to start for a couple of weeks so that's why I think he was non-committal on what it meant for me.

My question is, that if I went back to him next week and said I now accept the redundancy offer, can he say that the offer is no longer there?

    Yes. Circumstances have changed.

A company doesn't have to give VL to anyone who applies for it. So even if the offer was still on the table, they could turn down your application.

Yes. They do not have to accept your application for voluntary redundancy.
