not many of the apps would use much data, youtube would definatley use up the most i imagine, not just tht, but when you download and install apps from the app store ont yout phnoe through 3G, it allows you to do one on the move once the app aint over 10mb, then in that case you use your wifi

your NEVER gonna use 2Gb in a month, im on 1 Gb and i only ever use about 400mb or so, if that

Facetime is a complete waste if time even in wifi it stutters and stops.

Using the web wint use Much data but it will kill your battery

could easily use 2gb in a week never mind a month, all that is is 4 matches on sky sports which isn't a lot to watch in a month

We are all pretty well versed in the world of iPhone jailbreaking, so forgive me being presumptuous to mention that we can use facetime on our data allowance. For anyone that doesn't know you can download 3g Unrestricted and use face time over 3g.

agreed, I averaged about 4-500MB on my 3G, but have been using more apps etc on the 4 and this month am over 800MB used halfway through my billing period and I'm being pretty careful.

The sky sports app in particular is fantastic but a data killer.

Wow, that's astonishing, I never imagined a match would use up so much. I think you may have saved a few of us from having heart failure in the future.

The only reason you would ever generally use your 2GB allowance is if you tether as well, but being Vodafone tethering isn't included in the allowance unless you have MyWi and a jailbroken iDevice.

What sort of usage would radio streaming rack up over 3g?

pretty sure that's increased to 20megs now with the iphone first gen being discontinued.

you can't say for certain what he/she will or will not use in a month based on your download allowance. i've hit 5gig's on an iphone before, granted it was my only internet connection and i was using tethering as well.

forgive the ignorance, but could you be a bit more specific about this 3g unrestricted? is it an app or des the phone need to be jailbroken? or is it even worth it given the reports about facetime being a bt dodgy anyway....cheers.

forgive my ignorance but if you are streaming over wifi surely that uses none of your 2g?

Forgive me for dragging this slightly off topic but given that new vodafone iPhone customers in October will only get 500mb data does this mean anyone upgrading iPhone after this date will also only get 500mb?

128kbps is 1MB/minute, but I think 64kbps is more typical for a radio stream? So around 1MB/2 mins.
