so basically my WITcard has succumbed to sitting in my wallet for 2 years and the wear and tear means it no longer works effectively/at all.

my question is does anyone know can i get it replaced for free or will i have to fork out 20 quid to get a new one?

If its due to wear and tear your entitled to a free one, having said that, from experience its quite hard actually get a free replacement from the witcard office so if they refuse I'd advise going over to witsu and they should go in and help you get a free one!

Head over to the students union and they should be able to sort out a free one for you.

Bloody WIT card is the biggest joke of a thing ever. It makes no sense having to. Go to ATM, withdraw, queue (often for 10 mins), lodge. And that the machines doesn't take small change is farsical.

You can top up through the ATM its actually pretty handy! As for the small change, yea its rediculous!

The small change is a complete sham, the top up machine in the Library takes 20c and 50c, but every other machine will accept only €1 and €2 so its clear that the machines can accept small change. They just wont adjust them.

Completely agree but then again if the witcard machines accepted small change its more than likely that queues would almost triple in size due to people rooting in their pockets to find as much change as possible and throwing in lots of coins! If they were to accept smaller change I think it'd be best off if there was a cap at 20c coins as anything lower and your gonna have people abusing the situation and coming in with all the small change they've saved up!

If they adjusted the machines to accept 20c and 50c that would be perfect

sorry to say the wit card office will make you pay twenty for a new one. they dont care about wear and tear and student union cant do much about it unless u've been robbed or something like that:mad: . if the blond woman is working dont go need the place she's a rite b***h and realy looks down on students
