Punctuality is a common courtesy, no matter who you are if you are told a time to be at a place to perform for people who paid to see you be there not take the piss and the peoples affection for granted.
I know how I'd wanna be treated as a fan and thankfully all bands I've decided to pay to see, have enough respect, decency and cop on to do there job they are being paid to do.

Pearl Jam and Guns N Roses were a huge part of my teenage years! Managed to see PF this year in the O2 and was completely blown away and reduced to tears seeing my favourite band, Vedder is a god and is an effortless star in my eyes.

Left the O2 at 11.15pm last having dished out 320 euro to treat friends to a bit of nostalgia, gutted!! What a rubbish night, right from the off it was complete tripe with the support band talking about oral sex!!! and fisting! Lesson learned, people on this thread warned us but I was hoping it would be different!!!

Just been onto ticketmaster. Official word is no refunds will be given as the band played a full set (disrupted as it may be). They did advise to file a complaint via email to them & MCD & then "something might be arranged". The gig was recorded & no announcement was made of a call off so as far as they are concerned, despite what people were told by individual employees around the O2, the gig was played as stated. He did mention that tickets never state a beginning or end time for just this reason.

They advised that everyone in your party makes an individual complaint rather than one for all.

What's the story with the announcement? Is it going to be on the MCD website?

Yeah, for 20 minutes. They'll pull it down then.

Also, for what it's worth, Axl's behaviour was pretty inexcusable but the rest of the band, in particular the 3 guitarists, put on a excellent display given the circumstances.

Now where's my Mont Blanc pen? I feel a letter must be written :D

to be fair are the o2 not liable as it was their staff telling people to leave?

As a long term GnR fan its just awful to hear this, :( axl really has soiled the name of Guns and Roses with his behaviour, but then i would never expect ANY artist to stay on a stage where bottles were thrown!

i think both sides were equally to blame,

i feel sorry for the fans whose night was ruined by a few yobs throwing bottles, always the minority ruining it for everyone!

It goes both ways. Disgrace of a performer who can't be bothered to go on stage until 10.30

Danko Jones finished at 9.30. An hour break to set up the stage and then Guns showed up. It wasn't that long a wait.

I don't understand why people threw bottles at him. Knackers.

were you there, they dragged on the support by 45 mins by talking and playing crap. Under orders I presume.

Yeah but when a band come on at 10.30pm, in a venue that usually has an 11pm curfew, then people are going to be really pissed off.

MCD could have solved all the problems by annoucing there was no curfew.

I'm fairly sure Danko Jones played late BECAUSE Guns N' Roses were still hanging about whatever they were. And I could have done without some odd dude talking about oral sex and climbing to the top of a mountain because of ex girlfriends. But that's another story altogether.

I dont believe this guy there he says "i was sticking my fingers up at the singer and then i was lifted out" i smell bull****

There are youtube videos of Axl stopping songs and shouting abuse at people for sticking their middle finger up or even just because they were Slash t-shirts so it wouldn't be that surprising.

And they finished at 9.15, not 9.30 after giving us a list of their dream band and talking about Phillo and generally dragging out the set.

I was half expecting a Lizzy cover song tbh the length he went on about it.

Axl didn't acknowledge being late, this was the problem and so the crowd were entitled to boo. It was a two fingered salute to the Irish people. We have been ****ed for long enough and we sure as hell won't take being pissed on by a rock performer.*I stayed until they came back but I left soon after because he just stood there on one spot, going through the motions, which was even more insulting.*Throwing anything is wrong but MCD security should ensure this isn't possible, what for those that didn't throw anything?*Those who support Axl and his behaviour should leave him their money, the rest of us should get a refund. Foreward others for upcoming gigs to boycott this fool and hurt him where he feels it, in the pocket. *

I've never been to a gig where the houselights came on between the support and main acts.

All Axl had to do was say "Sorry we're late, let's rock!" and people would have cheered instead of booing.

(That last post was meant in support of yours JAE, just to avoid any confusion.)

I would love to think all the comments would put people off seeing this "has been fat fool" but i doubt it, people in this thread warned of the impending crap performance but people didn't listen, myself included!!
