looking for one due to being compatible with irish dtt and has sky player

No such box that does Sky Player and is Compatible with Irish DTT.

It's a Tesco Technika branded box for UK Freeview. You buy them in Tesco. Likely only in UK as they may not be 100% compatible with Irish DTT. It does BBC iPlayer, but not Sky Player. Also BBC iPlayer is mostly blocked to Irish Internet users. UK only service.

At this stage don't buy a box that has not Saorview certification. Wait till tesco has boxes with Saorview stickers.

There is some suggestion that connection to a UK IP address is required to install it.

I would recommend against buying this unless it gets a Saorview sticker sometime between November 2010 and June 2011.

ok how about a normal fetchtv smart box! they ARE compatible with sky player.
