One guy in primary school kept robbing my drink from my bag, but i didnt know who it was. One day i seen him take it with his foot so i got under the table to get it, as i got out he dropped my school bag on my head. So i stood up picked the school chair up by the legs and smashed him in the face with it. Problem solved.

Sure you did...This probably happened to you..

He's a thief, here. You're an animal. And probably the new bully.

Such PC bull****! he was getting stuff stolen from him repeatedly, and then got his schoolbag dropped on his head. He stood up for himself and gave the prick some of his own medicine. Doesn't make him a bully.

How.. this had been going on for the whole school year. Serious emotional trauma thinking people were taking my stuff... i didnt do much damage a black eye or something. He's actually a decent enough lad now, I credit myself with turning his life around :p

Ahh, you didn't outline the consistency - I was just shooting the bull anyway. In fact I'm glad you did that. It can be quite the ordeal.

I remember when I was 8 years old, I had a big problem, her name was Sorcha. She was older, stronger, bigger, faster. She chased me down like Duane "Dog" Chapman the Bounty Hunter but instead of mace in the face and a night in the county jail, I received twisted nipples, whips with skipping ropes, stings by nettles, dead legs, dead arms, hair pulling and the occassional trip and push combo.

She was the big fish in our estate, she ran the joint with an iron fist that would make Joseph Stalin weep like a little girl. No one was safe. I cried many nights in my panda and monkey wallpapered bedroom, punching pillows like a convict. But time went by and we moved house and I always wondered what happened to Sorcha, if she was bossing people around in some office somewhere, throwing coffee in her assistant Stephen's face. I often think that maybe she bullied me because she fancied the smooth hairless balls off me and that 10 year old girl was sick of the old bulls and wanted a piece of the young calf... but we'll never know ;)

So tell me, did you have a bully? Or maybe there is a bully in your life right now?

Hmmm your bully reminds me of your wan in that film Wanted!

Myself, yes. I had bullies from 2nd class onwards. I went to junior, senior infants and 1st class in Johnstown, KK. That was fine but went to a local school from 2nd class onwards.

Everyone else in the class had gone to school together locally before that so I was kind of an outcast and I didn't make friends easily either. It was constant day in day out. The fact that I was quiet, shy and had a very sheltered childhood didn't help me.

When I finally finished and went to secondary school, I thought it was all behind me. Little did I know a lot of them were there too and re-started all the sh!t that was going on in primary.

Eventually I had enough of it and did the needful to one of them. It's amazing that once you stand up to them, it stops. Needless to say, they all were, and still are complete wasters.

Yes i did.. and they were the fandagled fancy new chairs. I was a good kid, all the principal said was use your fist next time, no weapons. And no that isnt a joke.

QFT, far too often people just take being railroaded/steamrollered into something because of fear. I looked forward to my drink every day! It was those plastic hip flask shaped things with the blue caps :)

Yep. There were a few lads in school all part of a gang but there was one fella in particular who pretty much made my life hell. I couldn't even walk past his house without him coming at me with something trying to kill me.

Don't think i ever got bullied by girls though. They can be much more vicious.

Gee. Calm down. Just making light of how he described the ferocious retaliation.

Just reading thru here and I'm so glad I wasn't bullied at school, I was in a kind of popular group so that's prob the reason why....and we didn't bully anyone either, all we wanted to do each day was play football out in the yard.

It must be traumatic for quite a few of ye to have to face this day in, day out as kids, I can only imagine the mental anguish ye suffered.

To all ye who stood up for yourself and gave the bullies what for....I salute each and every one of ye!

Slander!! I was the nerdy quiet girl in school...the one with the braces and teenage spot break-outs :(

I did have some spots from 13-15 but no braces, wore glasses in class for the blackboard but not outside the classroom, i was a bit of nerd but very athletic, playing basketball, football, hurling and swimming so I didnt get bullied into my teenage years thankfully :D

I had some fella who used to think it was funny to jump me from behind, push me on my face, kick me when i was on the ground, in the face sometimes, slam my head against the wall etc. He wasn't laughing when one day in a corridor at lunchtime, nobody else there, he runs towards me, and just as he lands the first punch, I swung around and planted a clean dig into his face, dislocating his jaw:D First and last time I ever punched somebody, I was a really quiet child but just had enough of this prick. Felt kind of guilty for injuring him like that, but it was worth it to see the hard bastard, or so-called hard bastard, crying, and believe me that was a sight seldom seen with this fella!

This is not true. You didn't break my jaw. It was merely the sound of your hand breaking from hitting the wall after I ninja-ducked out of the way and planted a fist into your ear which made you wake up thinking that all that happened :D

I was bullied quite badly in Secondary school, to get back I used to seal up the guys (plural) lockers with superglue, as you had to pay for a new one if you broke it. Snapped one day and spear tackled the main offender during a fight in PE, put out his back and sent him to a few weeks of physio. Can't say I've ever felt bad about it...

All of the above are now unemployed and uneducated/unskilled:D

When I was in maybe senior infants, there was an older boy who used to take my lunch.
Apparently I came home one evening and told my mammy "Don't give me ham sandwiches anymore". Why not? "James doesn't like them".

    Haha. The innocence of it.

I had the unique experience of being bullied by a teacher.

I went to a small country school, and so there was junior infants, senior infants, 1st class in the same classroom, and then 2nd 3rd and 4th class in another classroom. 5th and 6th then had the principal teaching them.

Anyway, when I went into 2nd class, there was a new teacher. She made my live HELL. She ridiculed me in front of the entire classroom at every oppertunity.
I recall one incident where the local priest called in and he asked me a question -- and i replied. I think it was something to do with liking mondays.

After he left, this older girl, she was in 4th class -- the opposite side of the room -- mimiced exactly what i had said and the teacher and most of the class scoffed at me.

My cousins then moved down from dublin. One was in my class, and the boy was in 5th class. My cousin in my class ended up telling her mum what was happening, who in turn told my mother.

My mother obviously went to the school, trying to sort it out, but the teacher used to pull me out of the desk after she left, and shout at me asking me why was i wasting my mothers time.

This one day though, my dad went into the school instead, and outwardly accused her of bullying. The only response she had was to faint.

That bitch made me repeat 3rd class but had me doing 4th class work, and I'm pretty sure it was just to prolong me being in her classroom.

If I got a sum or a spelling wrong, she used to send someone out to the other classroom for a 1st class kid, and would ask him if he knew the answer, and would prompt him.

The heating wasnt working another day, so she said we could leave our coats on inside.
We went out to play at breaktime, and we were playing chasing, so obviously I had warmed up, and took my coat off. Sitting inside, it was chilly again, so I put my coat back on and she told me that I could "leave it off. you were running around the yard without it."

She was removed from the school in the middle of 4th class, and I've since heard she was removed from the school she was sent to, for kicking a student.

    Animal.

I was also "bullied" in 6th year secondary school.

3 ugly bitches started sending rude vile texts to a boy in the brothers school. Really outlandish crude messages, using my name. As it was a small enough town, and everyone knowing each others business, word spread like wildfire. It was going on for WEEKS before I found out about it.

I never managed to clear my name either, because the guy in question wouldnt co-operate, wouldnt show the text messages to the principals of either school, or to the gardai.

I thought it was over, but snooping on bebo a few months after, I seen him making fun of me. I never met the guy in my life before, never even heard of him.

I guess I was just an easy target. I was very quiet, and extremely shy.

I tell you something if any cnut ever did that to one of my kids I'd have been in that school and she'd have got the biggest kick in the fookin' gee it would have broke her hymen.....I'm sure your teacher had never got her leg over and that's why she was such a bitch!

I can only imagine it's far worse these days with social networking and everyone having a mobile phone. When I was finishing school, people were only starting to get mobiles. Although, at least you have a paper trail of what is happening, even then, as your post indicated, it's not dealt with properly or not reported in most cases.

Was bullied as an infant in playschool by a kid who use to belt me whenever the supervisor or teacher or whatever was away or not looking! Dont ask me why, but I remember it quite vividly as he was also far physically bigger than me... so being a pre-school child I was scared sh*tless of the chap.

..... Joined a boxing club at 13 and went in the first night to meet the other lads there and low and behold who's there but this lovely chap. So the a few nights into training the coach decides to get me into my first sparring situation to see what I was made of... and he allowed me to pick whoever I wanted to spar with!

I tell ya, they should have charged pay per view to see that spar, took two lads to get me off the chap!

    Never went back after that!

Funnily enough, I see the guy around quite often and having gotten talking to him in secondary school and a few nights after, it eventually came up in conversation and we both laughed about it! He turned out to be a nice guy afterall! :o.... And I guess I benefited from the whole experience in the longrun! :)

.... Was a nice feeling getting to batter him at the time though! :D

Nothing serious. One guy when I first moved over here had a problem with me because I have an American accent. Needless to say my first month in schooling in Ireland left me being suspended for 2 weeks due to me fighting with him and his friend. He kicked me over playing football in PE, the first time he done it I let it go, the second time I went straight for him. I punched him four or five times and his friend once. They told the principle and the teacher. They got suspended for bullying I got suspended for kicking the ****é out of him and hitting his friend.

After that they never bothered me again. I got settled down over here then. Started playing hurling and football and soon enough I made a sound bunch of friends.

I think you could classify that as a bully.

When I was in my early teens me and my mom moved town, I joined a martial arts club but got bullied by the guys already there (I went out with an ex-mot of one of them) and they gave me some beatings. I ended up learning martial arts off this Okinawan immigrant, Paddy Miyagi (everyone called him Mr tho) who did a few handyman jobs where we lived.

Anyway to cut a long story short I ended up in a tournament with the bullies and beat them one by one. Despite them injuring me in the final I still beat my nemesis by pretending to be some kind of retarded chicken in the ring and kicking him in the face.

I owe Mr Miyagi everything for standing up to them but in fairness the little bollix fookin' took advantage of me that summer, had me painting his gaff, cleaning his car etc trying to convince me it helped with the training....ffs!!!

    Ive never been physically bullied.

I did go to agri college when i was 17, and because i was from the town and didnt speak "muck savage" i stood out like a black man on an ice hocky team.

I was pretty quiet at that age, so never said alot so verbally, they'd have a go but never brave enough to do anything else.. it was only in my 20's i got a little more confident and never had a problem.

There were a few occasions when i was younger that kids would try to start bullying me, as they would with everyone.. they'd start, id end it by kicking the fcuk out of them.
