Which (petrol) power washer?

    Going to take the plunge and buy. Have a choice between a second hand 3000psi for c. €850 or a new 2300psi for c €700, both Honda engines. Is the new one good enough for occasional shed washing (slatted sheds) or will the extra psi make a big difference? Leaning towards the new one as I don't know how much work the other one has done..... Any advice?

    Hi MFman

    Why not hire out a petrol power washer from your local hire centre. Then you can see what make/psi that machine is and you'I see for youself how it performs at the jobs you want it for. Tehn if you think it is a good machine you can price these new. Just a thought.

    If the price of the machine is out of your league, ask yourself how often your going to be using it for heavy work (sheds etc, concrete yards etc)and if it might be better just to be set up and hire out machine for a day or maybe two a year. Buy a smaller and cheaper one then for cleaning, lets say the tractor, machinery, trailer etc...

    Just a thought....

    And a good thought it is too. I usually hire a 3000psi one which is plenty powerful for washing down the shed. However once hired out, one is obligated to get as much done in as short a time as possible, including washing trailers, vehicles etc. I'd have more comfort and be less pressurised (pardon pun) if I owned my own. New, the 3000 one is c. €1400+ and not feasible for the small amount of work it would do annually. I've a chance of getting a second hand one for price mentioned but have to move on it within a day or two. The 2300 one would be plenty for washing trailers but just unsure if it would do the sheds adequately, hence the thread.
