    Go to Barcelona.

Why Barcelona? is it as user friendly as A'dam? remember our friend here must be guaranteed of success, no time for messing around.

How combining the best of both worlds and doing Electric Amsterdam!!!

Although seriously I'd defo do EP.

It only comes around once a year, is by far Ireland's best festival, and you have 51 other weekends in the year to get high and rent hookers . . . or go to Amsterdam :D

Go to Amsterdam for 2 days and then go to a festival over there.. You'll come home for pretty much the same money but at least the weather will have been good.

Get your carcass to the Dam, no contest! EP will be there next year...it should be obligatory under eu law every man (and woman:rolleyes:) should experience the dam at least once before marraige, relationships etc!!

It's very user friendly, and it's a hell of a lot more fun than Amsterdam

(Amsterdam is one of my favourite cities in Europe, but if you're just going there for the overpriced weed they sell to tourists in places where they don't need to ensure they get repeat business then you're Doing It Wrong tbh)

Neither. I would save the €500

    Boring, I know

I live in Amsterdam so I kinda have to say the EP.

But if I was back home and could only choose one, I'd be Dam-ing it.

Honestly, since you need to ask I think you'd be safer at EP =p

I don't even go to the Dam for the weed anymore.. there's so much to see besides all the vice-tourism stuff.. it's just a great place

OP, going to Amsterdam will give you more than just an enjoyable holiday. You'll get to experience another culture, try new food, mix with the locals of another society....all this is better than running around the woods with a bunch of Irish scumbags with no sense of anything...
Electric Picnic is not a scumbag festival.

I reckon Electric Picnic to be the most fun that I can have in Ireland.
Life Festival > EP, in my opinion. It's quite simply the most ridiculous mashfest imaginable.

Amsterdam. There should be no debate here! Best city in the world.

apt username for such an opinion!

but seriously OP, no question...get ready for some amsterdamage!!

i love the city and been there upwards to 7-8 times. apart from the obvious party themed weekend it's just a beautiful place in the right areas - go the the van gogh museum (while stoned on some nice heady weed if possible) it's one of the best experiences of my life!!

*f'ucks off to check ticket prices...been a while

Amsterdam was only good for drugs, the city itself is a sh*thole! I'm a huge hot chip, lcd soundsystem and the national fan so Id have to go for electric picnic but it all depends on how much you love the line-up, i love the bands this year! seen a lot them but I used my money for arcade fire tickets and a holiday

Obviously you only went for the drugs and got too ****ed to actually visit the city, it's a wonderfull place with alot of atractive features both within the city and on the outskirts. In the summer can be one of the most peacefull and beautiful places i've ever been to.

If you ignore the drugs and prostitute, Amsterdam has so much else to offer and is well worth it. If you want drugs and prostitutes just follow the RTE mainstayers around and save yourself a fortune.

I really hate people like you, you dont even know me BUT obviously I MUST of gone for the drugs... No I didn't go for the drugs, I was travelling around europe with a friend (interrailing) we had just come from Munich after the Euro 2008 final, we were there for three days and actually spent the first day travelling around the city, we didnt take any drugs the first day, I hadn't taken drugs for a year before I visited there, compared to every other city I visited it was by far the worst, canals smell like sh*t, people are w*nkers and if you think Amsterdam is a wonderful place with attractive features you should really visit some more cities in Europe and make a better assessment, you are the first person I have ever met who has called Amsterdam "peaceful"

I'll say it's peaceful, everybody knows it's peaceful, the city is peaceful due to the lack of cars and trucks throughout most of the city, the coffeeshops are relaxed and stress free unless you want to get rowdy then you be asked to chillout (keeping the peace). :)

I'd flip a coin, but a thread in AH would do too.

No, a walk in the park is peaceful, having a nap is peaceful, just because Amsterdam doesnt have traffic doesn't mean its a peaceful city, it wasn't until I had a bit of weed was I able to relax in that city, that is probably what your talking about but I walked around the city sober and was hounded by people to go into certain clubs/pub crawls and then called a queer and a fag when I declined going into a strip club, someone got sick on my shoes coming out of a coffee shop, was treated like sh*t in most places, then the next 2 days I got high and didnt even notice these bad things because I was off my chops, then I was able to relax and things became more "peaceful" as you say. Spend one day around the city sober and then come back to me

Have a picnic in amsterdam - best of both worlds.
Electrify it by doing this during a thunder storm if needs be.

Yes of course you'll get action around the red light district and the budtenders can be abrupt crankies but just like you say a walk in the park is peaceful, I usually end up a park after a few hours of green, Rent a bike and head out west it's not far to westerpark or it's handy to go to the back of the CS and take a free ferry across to the northside where a ten minute walk will take you to a marvelous outdoor swimming pool.

But one thing I do place a high value on is the peace of mind one experiences in the absence of aspersion, persecution and guilt replaced by freedom, acceptance and choice. I believe it's a matter of appreciation.
