I for one have seen plenty of them and to my shame have got dragged into a couple. Does this happen to other people how do you hold yourself back when people quote you out of context? This does not happen to me in real life I just let things go. Can someone please give me advice on how to turn the other cheek in the cyberworld or failing that some hot tips on how to win the war of the keyboard!!!! And any info on why my smiley/ angry faces come up as a long list of words would be very appreciated to!

Yes. But you have to start an argument first! Best thing is don't post while you're angry. Give it a few minutes, count and then ask yourself "is this worth the banning?". If yes, then it'll give us all a chuckle.

i tell myself: "step away from the keyboard...put...the...keyboard...down"

it doesn't always work, i've been banned for getting wound up by - frankly - a'rseholes who quote you out of context and fail to bother seeing what it is you're trying to say...

Jebus, way to mix the singular with the plural.

And thats why it is so easy, in real life people do not have a copy of every word you say to them so that they can pick over it before they reply, also expression are very important. It is a real pitty as some good threads turn into a battle between a couple of fools over absolutely nothing.

It's the same all over the British Isles.

What does the Qur'an have to say about it?

I wouldn't call an extra "t" in pity, nothing.

Because people take things that are written on the internet seriously.

    There are a few types..

There are the obvious re reg arsebandits that seem the snyper in a thread and make some bizzare out of context comment about posts i make in other forums. Obvious by the fact they seem to know too much about me and have apparently some sort of gay love crush on me they feel like after only 5 posts and 3 days on the internet in their new account, decide to take a shot at the title.

It generally fails, as i ignore them, then after a while they step it up, and i respond telling them i think they're silly and not very nice. Their head pops with juvanile anger, they get banned.

    I win.

They have to find a gay internet love crush elsewhere

If "The answer is blowing in the wind" then WindSock will always be at least pointing in the right direction.

You would do well, Biggins, to think carefully before posting such lame comments about such a serious issue.
