gerk86 I like the pic I really do, but the dog bit and a ghostly thing behind it (can't figure out what it is) make it very creepy to me.

30sec exposure with flash at the start. If you look closely you can see my mother pulling a face (just behind the dog) then obviously turning away for the rest of the exposure giving her a side profile as well as frontal.

    you're right though, a biiiit creepy :D
    give'us a kiss

Really nice shot Keps. Did you adjust the white balance at all?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,324 ✭✭✭keps

I Think I will have to go to Flickr ot Pix.ie to post in future.

To date I have used Tinypic but they have now introduced a 2 random word password system before you can load- and by God you would want to see some of the words they come up with
    My latest test was

    Brobsters alyosha

I'm not sure what adjusting the white balance means.

Just to tell you the sequence - I took the photo at 9.45 pm this evening.

Imported it into Picassa - looked a bit flat so I adjusted the 'Fill light' upwards a tad- then increased the 'shadow'.

Then noticed those dreaded sensor spots - so moved it to Photoshop to clear them up- but when in PS why not play around?

So I used the dodge tool to highlight even more the light coloured stripes.

The photo does look a bit orangy overall - so if there is advice on how to keep the colours more natural - talk away

BTw - this took all of 4/5 mins - with the photo being posted in less than 20 minutes after it was taken.

( I went back this evening after I thought I had snapped to early last night in a last ditch effort to get into Marton's 'Speed Assigment - this was the shot I took last night(Tue)
