Yeah great lads they are, charging e6.58 to post you an envelope with your ripoff tickets in it :P

Far better than being charged ridiculous fees on each ticket.

Booking fees are 8.72 for two tickets on top of the envelope tax

Yeah, just saw that there. I think it works out a fiver cheaper a ticket. It's still cheaper though.

I'm curious (I guess this is directed to Jill Valentine) but what are these "envelope charges" and "Booking fees" for? Surely Ticketmaster are already getting a cut from the Artist via the ticket price.

Why do i pay 6.58 for someone to put a ticket in an envelope?

Apart from Crowdsurge's own operating and customer service costs, it's mainly the registered postage, they need to cover themselves in case your ticket disappears into the ether.

Again, out of interest, a few standing have gone back up on http://www.arcadefire.com/shows/

I think I got a standing ticket...never used crowdsurge before. Was wondering if it was a dodgy site but got a confirmation email just afterwards!

    Deadly!

Its great to skip ticketmaster! How does that work though that ticketmaster are only releasing their tickets on Friday?

I just got 4 standing tickets through crowdsurge

Arcade Fire negotiate with the venues to keep aroundabout 10% of the tickets to themselves. They can sell them whenever they like, Ticketmaster doesn't get a look in and doesn't get to take a slice of that pie. It's pretty nifty.

Scott Rodger, their manager, has previously said that they can only do aroundabout 10% since Ticketmaster pretty much have a monopoly here and have contracts with all the venues. I further suspect that Crowdsurge - and they are brilliant in Europe, Crowdsurge - simply don't have the server muscle to handle all the traffic - but I'm glad they're there to discreetly shoulder some of it, for the folks willing to keep an eye out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,072 ✭✭✭✭ShaneU

    Yes :D

I want to make a really bad Arcade Fire car-related songtitle/lyric pun of some kind, but there's so many to choose from.

Either way, pretty sweet day for Shane. :D

Just gave in and got 2 seated tickets, €59 is dear, but at least its not €73, band you get Devandra Banhart as well. Sad to see the tout website already selling a few different types of tickets, it shows that they keep an eye on sites like this as well:mad:

Can you still get standing through here. Mine says "Reserved" and I can only click on the seated area?
