    Of the films I've seen recently, the best ones have been;

    - "Defendor" with Woody Allen a pretty good 'black' comedy.

    - "The Good, The Bad & The Weird" is excellent - a spaghetti western comedy set in Manchuria

    - "Nowhere Boy" is a very charming account of John Lennon's teenager years. A kind of coming of age, kitchen sink tale (much better than it sounds).

    - "The Ghost Writer" with Ewan McGregor & Pierce Brosnan. One of Polanski's better movies of recent years.

    - "Sherlock Holmes" is Guy Ritchie's very entertaining take on the legendendary fictional character

    "Broken Embraces" - another Amoldovar classic

    - and "A Prophet" as someone mentioned earlier

    The worst ones I've seen recently were "Shutter Island", "Inception" & "Avatar".

    I was beginning to think there was something with me for thinking that film was brutal.

    It was complete drivel. Even worse than The Matrix, if that's possible.

    Bugger - I meant to say Woody Harrellson, not Woody Allen.
