I only ever made the Olympic "reincarnation" which was crap. Really disliked it. Pity as it had such a great rep from its first time round.

Another monster of a tune from the temple that summer.Very hard to find better quality music in the city at the time.Tha olympic was gone,the asylum closed july 94,i think the temple was the best at that stage.

Yeah them reopening nights were mentioned here a good while back.
You might as well being in a different building, full of drunks, no lazers, speakers removed from the four balcony corners. Almost ruined the nostalgia for me but it was good to see the old haunt. At first the balconys were closed and there was loads of tables and chairs at the back of the hall, people sitting down getting drunk:eek: But after a few weeks the place was packed the balcony was opened up and there was tumble weed in the Ormond as the regulars there went to the Olympic instead.
No chance of it opening again, feckin offices/apartments built there now.
The hall is now a garden area in the middle of the complex, ....."it's a scandal Franco"

PS: That SL2 Way in my Brain was an animal track in the Olympic

Yeah pass the Olympic every day now - work just around the corner from it. Way in my Brain is the best SL2 track IMO. Love it

I thought I had that mp3 here at the ready, must be at home. Yeah I used to pass it too when I worked beside it years ago before it was knocked down. A few lads in the job also went raving too so as we passed it on our lunch break we would always pay it homage:D
