    Hi

I have to book return flights for this route for end Sept.

With Luftansa it works out expensive - over 1k return

Any advice on more reasonable & economic options?

    Try using www.skyscanner.ie

Ryanair to Stanstead and Easyjet to Ljubliana is an option.

    (Slovenian national carrier)

22 sept - 29 sept Ljubljana Airport to Dublin Airport should come in at under 400 with both Lufthansa via Frankfurt, and Swiss air via zurich.

Can go Adria but they are damn expensive. Fly Easyjet from Stanstead, though after what i experienced with Easyjet on this route last week, I would not recommed that to anyone. Another option is to use Venice as you hub. Only a couple of hours from ljubljana, and you can get a bus quite easily with this crowd, who I used and found very reliable

Just in case you are wondering, Mestre is the mainland part of Venice

It is unusual that Ryanair don't fly directly to Slovenia. It is a place that people want to visit (with good reason).

That said, the flight to Venice and the bus transfer isn't a terrible hardship, and the scenery is fantastic. Trains also run from Venice to Ljubljana, but if I remember correctly, they used to take an age.

They used to fly Stansted - Maribor. Didn't last long though.

Yeah think the train is close to 7 hours:eek:. Have no idea how it takes that long. The bus i posted above takes under 3 hours and brings you from Mestre train station to Ljubljana Train station and visa versa. God i want to be back so bad. I have fallen in love with Slovenia
