    Hi all,

As a kid I'v always wanted my own snooker table or pool table, now since I'm older I want my own table where I can go practice for a few hours and just chillout.

So I'v been thinking, where do I put a 9ft American Pool table? my home is outta the question, I'v been looking around for a unit with just enough space for a table but the rental rates are mad!

So anyone got any suggestions? or is this a case where I need to win the lotto and buy a big fancy house?:D

If you have to pay rent on a unit to house the table you would probably just be better off going down to a snooker hall and paying by the hour

One option you might consider is using your attic space, Convert it. It doesn't have to cost the earth or look lile a 5 star hotel, I reckon 600euro worth of timber and you are half way there.... You would be surprised how much of the work you could do yourself. The cost of renting a unit for 12 months could go towards using your attic space. Just an idea..

Do pool tables come flat packed or something?

sadly they dont come flat packed! :)

I think renting some space could be the best option! As anyone any idea how much it would cost to rent a big enough space to fit a 9x4 pool table?

The attic is not a bad suggestion but would need alot of strengthening to support a pool table properly. It can certainly be done though & getting the table up there wouldnt be a major issue compared with the conversion works most likely required.
You would need 21' x 16' though for the table.

any ideas on how much a job like that would cost?

Very hard to give any kind of accurate estimate. It would depend entirely on what your house is like. May only require a small amount of strengthening, or possibly semi-major work

just a thought, have you considered a pool dining table.. not sure a 9ft one would be available but worth lookin in to (if you have the space in your dining room)
try these guys, i think others sell them too but the table tops have to to lifted off and on. bought one recently, works a treat.
