How to get full list of Irish hotels, BnBs and Guesthouses?

Hi,

I have an idea for a new business but I would need to get a full list of Irish Hotels, BnBs and Guesthouses and contact details (Name/email).

Does anyone know how I would go about getting such a list?

There are companies like kompass that sell that type of info - it does tend to be expensive.

You could do some donkey work and hit the yellow pages etc.

Yeah, had thought about that but was the final option

I wonder if someone has a screen scraper/automatic script downloader for the yellow pages??

That could be problematic as most sites have Terms and Conditions of access. There was a court case a few years ago against someone who used such a scraper on a business site. The site owner won. From what I remember of Golden Pages, its information architecture is rather poor.

There is a book called 'Be Our Guest' that Bord Failte publish every year, most hotels/guesthouses/bnb's thats are registered with Bord Failte advertise in this. Will take time to enter everything on excel but once its done you should have a fairly comprehensive list.

Or to actually advertise- there are a couple of companies out there that do fax mailshots- they can send to target locations/industries and are quite reasonable. Of course who knows how successful a fax mailshot would be- but as a starting point to reach a target market its not so bad. I know a company that does I think 10,000 faxes for €350, which isnt bad.

Bord Failte used to print a hotel/guesthouse/BB guide to all BF-approved establishments in Ireland, by county.

I haven't seen a printed copy of these booklets in recent years but if you call BF they might be able to confirm whether or not they still publish same.
