    minor one -
don't bother with a cluttering or pay flashlight app. go in to camera and video mode and you can turn the led light on.

Got the iPhone yesterday, was told my number would be ported from old phone (meteor) to new iPhone (3), by 9am this morning. Phone works great but 1 lil prob....

As is stands, it is HALF ported. i can make calls from the iPhone and they come up as from my origional number.

BUT if some1 calls my original number, my old phone rings...not the iPhone.

    Any ideas...anyone....

To get rid of the call forwarding pop up on 4.0.

Go to Cydya> add more sources> Scroll down till you see iphone-notes.de and add it.
After you add the soucre, go to the search section of cydia and search for ForwardMsgFix 4.0 and install it..

Reboot the device and you shouldnt see the call forwarding pop up any more.

There's a bunch of apps that allow you to just switch the LED on by clicking on their icon. Easier than turning on the camera and into video mode.

There's some listed after this article. :)

true, but most people would leave them on page 2 or 3 so if you normally leave camera in video mode and on page1 it'd be as quick to do my way and no extra app clutter:)

Each to their own of course. The flashing LED feature on some of the apps could be useful for hillwalkers and climbers.

Was going to mention a new "Lamp app" which purported to turn your iPhone into a lamp but which secretly enabled you to tether your iPad and iPhone, it was removed from the App store.

A neat little feature of mobileme is that you can now stream and background play any music that you have in your account from the phone using the idisk app.

Was in town yesterday having been invited by email to an event at 1pm. To my surprise at 12.50 an alarm went off on my iPhone and a message popped up telling me the event would begin in 10 minutes. Turns out that when the iPhone detects a time or date in an email it sets up an event for you with a reminder. A handy little tip I thought I'd pass on.

That was a meeting request email, gives u option to accept or deny? Still cool that it intergrates though.

that doesn't happen. it must have been a meeting request you accepted and you have reminders set to 10 minutes?

I have the phone 2 weeks and hadn't even been in to Calenders, maybe 10 minutes is a default reminder and can be changed? Either way nice to have stumbled up on it.
