.....it's official! The Coffee Shops are still full which can only mean people have more money than sense paying over the odds for boiling water, a scoop of Nescafe and a bit of frothy milk!

Plus the fact they hold them aloft like some sort of trophy as they 'march' to work. Is Coffee the new status symbol.

I remember once, we couldn't find a room for a meeting here in the office and the other person suggested "Shall we just go to Starbucks and have a coffee and the meeting there?" They were reliably informed that if I set foot inside the kip I would be burning it to the ground along with the 'arty farty' types who sit in there all day reading books and wearing scarves (even in summer!!!)

There never was a recession. Anytime I go to my local shopping center (pavilions swords) there are queues of cars to get in and the place is black. Always has been. Weekends are the worst.

I've always said it, there never was a recession around here.

EDIT: Coffee shops are always full too.

I went into a coffee shop yesterday to treat myself to a take away mocha.
The silly bint behind the counter made me coffee with milk (puke) & still charged me for a mocha. She didn't know how to make a mocha & was too stupid to ask anyone for a bit of help.
It was only when I got to work that I noticed :mad:

Personally I think Starbucks tastes rank and is way over priced. Plus you have to speak Starbuck to order there. I think it's a form of brain washing.
If you say can I have a regular coffee staff assume a blank confused face. Then they try and "educate" you as to the correct lingo. "Oh you mean a vente double americano with a twist".
No I meant a regular coffee. Hate the place.

The same people will be complaining that they have no money or that the recession is crippling them. Or maybe it's just people are too lazy to boil the kettle!

It's like people who text in to vote for the X-Factor and all that rubbish yet they will be up in arms about reduction in Children's allowance etc, well stop spending a fiver every Saturday evening voting for cnuts and you won't feel the effect!

A regular coffee is a little ambiguous actually, as a "regular" coffee in Turkey would be rather different to that in Italy.

true , still 1.8 million working in this country , many many rich retired , 450k unemployed who are probably better off than 750k earning under 25k per year so many can afford a coffee , its not 1847
