UPC Remote - New (Second Hand) TV

So, our UPC Remote was working to change the volume on an old Bush 28' TV in the sitting room, but we've replaced the TV with a Sony Trinitron 28' Widescreen TV which we got second hand. So, our UPC Remote was working to change the volume on an old Bush 28' TV in the sitting room, but we've replaced the TV with a Sony Trinitron 28' Widescreen TV which we got second hand.

Anyway, long story short, the UPC Remote doesn't work on the new TV for the volume, which means having to have two remotes, one for changing the channel, the other (Sony Remote) for the volume and other TV functions.

Anyone know how to make the UPC Remote work on the new TV?

It's a total pain that the UPC box and remote don't play very nice with my Sony either. Sometimes it's hastle even getting the thing to turn on!

Eventually I keyed in the correct Sony 'code' into the UPC remote, but the volume control only works sometimes on some channels. Total pain....
