Many people dont realise that favorites can be organised into folders (in theory one can store thousands of URL's this way but it does get pretty messy !!!)

A better plan is to write a little HTML file stored locally on your HDD (and periodically backed up) with it set up as ones browser startup page.

The advantage being that most frequently used links can go near the top of the page

No Favourites, startup my browser and Facebook, Boards and Google Reader start.

(Google Reader FTW - any sites I look at update in it and only takes a few minutes to check them all, now has functionality where it tells you if a site updates even if it doesn't have a proper feed.)

I've a few hundred if not thousands in my faves, theres 75 main folders and some of them would have a lot of subfolders.

How can ye only have a handful of favorites?

Im a bit of a compulsive hoarder myself although obviously I would revisit many of the sites ive bookmarked once in a blue moon (if at all)

Same here, alot of my bookmarks are tech papers, open source projects, forums, articles, etc. It's amazing how it builds up over the years but alot of them would be dated now but still interesting to look back on.
