have mine a month now(04 new shape)! my cousin is goin crazy cause the company he works for got a transit connect instead of the caddy he wanted. he says its terrible to drive, and he's up and down to dublin everyday in it. the caddy is great to drive, and feels solid on the road too. ive a couple of niggles in mine, such as the horn is gone, brakelight bulb, tiny things. as long as the engine and gearbox stay alive, il be happy. bit more expensive than the connect, berlingo etc, but well worth it.

Caddy is a nicer drive, faster etc but reliability is left seriously lacking(turbos, gearboxes, flywheels, injectors, wheelbearings, exhausts) compared to the Connect, working on both of these vans every day of the week and if I was spending my money I'd have a Transit Connect hands down.

Had a connect myself and it's absolutely bulletproof. The caddy is softer and has more options (i.e. things to go wrong).
Friend of mine has the caddy and it's forever getting fixed. The Connect will just go forever and when you do load a few hundred kg's into it doesn't drag it's arse on the road.
Connect better for doing actual work.

jaysus! ur getn me worried now mate! you wouldnt by any chance happen to know what a still abs light and a symbol that looks like a car with skid marks behind it, along with a flashing handbrake light and three beeps means? although it hasnt done this in weeks!

All i can say is that the ford must be very uncomfortable as I have drove the caddy and its not good in the comfort stakes.:DThe co I work for have one and it seems to be fairly bullet proof as it doesnt get great care but still a good van

think of the connect as a tractor mower.....that will give you some idea comfort wise..lol

I thought the seat in the Connect was fairly nice, good seating position and loads of room, but lousy when it comes to storage space.
But think of the passengers too. My Connect had some sort of emergency jumpseat on the passenger side instead of a proper seat. It did not adjust in any direction and was rock hard, any passenger I ever had suffered badly in it!
But as far as driving and comfort goes loved the Connect, thought it was nicely sprung, quick enough and comfy enough for longer runs.
Also (just a little thing) whatever way the windows open, you can have it one quarter open and just get a gentle breeze on top of you and almost no noise.
But you will need to invest in some speakers, the Connects stereo is terrible, well the stereo head unit is OK, but the speakers in the doors are tiny and pathetic.
