Jesus, so you don't even have HD.

I didn't think Freeview was available in the South of Ireland.

Some areas around the NI border can get it, very dodgy. I'm about 5 minutes away and I can't get it but I know people down the road that can.

I think the Play TV should be ok to decode the Irish freeview signals when it launches, might just need a software update. Aren't they supposed to be launching a HD version soon?

RTÉ One, Two, TG4 and RTÉ News Now are the television channels available at the moment via DTT in this country. It launches properly in October.

DTT is only running test transmissions at the minute, so you cant be certain you'll get all the channels. Couple of months ago I could get RTE 1, 2, TV3 and TG4 no bother. TV3 has fallen off the list for some reason.

Apart from that, its a very good tuner, the quality of DTT is top notch, even your analogue signal is cruddy enough. I'm sure there is a cut off though were you just cant receive it.

It has EPG, can record shows based off the EPG, it can background record shows while you play a game, and it can auto wake the ps3 to record a show (as long as its plugged in ofc). You can save shows out to Mpeg2 if you want to stick them on a USB key and watch them elsewhere

The only snag with it in my eyes is you have to turn on your ps3 to watch tv, costing some vital seconds. On the whole its worth it I think.

I picked one up in PC World Blanch for 25euro, it had been previously opened. Anyway, brought it home, hooked it up to my aerial, and all I got was audio, however once I updated the software it worked perfectly. Very happy with it ! you only get rte1, rte2, tnag and rte news now. More channels are out in October.
