I dont know if this was posted already,i couldnt see it was.Apologies if it was.

Tests to identify a human skull discovered in a wooded area could take weeks to be completed.Forensic experts are examining the skull - believed to be that of an adult male - as search teams comb the private land near Blessington in Co Wicklow.

Over coming days the State Pathologist's office is expected to uncover how long the remains had been in the area, but establishing the identity is expected to take more time.

How many people are in them mountains. R.I.P whomever you are.

I had read few months back they were looking into a shallow grave looking spot that some hunters? I think it said came across.
Some people clearing the areas found this skull.

I know might be a bit far fetched, but is it time the police and mountain service went out and combed them hills, instead of waiting for someone to come across these poor lost people :(

There must be loads of people buried in the Dublin/Wicklow mountains.
It's too big of an area to search though-i heard before about how the Guards got a tip off on a general area of where someone was buried, and they still couldn't find anything.

Actually,a few bodies have turned up this week i think.
Hopefully though it will give a bit of closure to the familys.

If you comb one area one week the next area another week, its not that big.It sounds like a cop out( pardon the pun) to me.You see in Britain they can comb the mountains and hills for missing people for weeks before they will give up.The moor murders. They didnt stop until they found something.I mean they have sniffer dogs. These people were clearing away forestry and there it was, they weren't digging holes.

Yeah I was posting in that before but surely if it's the same area where people go missing couldn't they narrow it down to who's doing it?
    Presuming it's one person.

The detective involved along with the police who came over,FBI i believe from US said they believed it to be a serial killer. But it was brushed under carpet.
They seem to be scattered all over the place.

I dont know what is involved in this case.As i believe they are saying this is a male.

If it was properly decayed and old looking, I might have kept it. I've always wanted a human skull to stick on a shelf and the ones on ebay are stupidly expensive.

I know its AH,But people think someone related to that person could be getting very bad news very soon, and reading what is been said, and their worst fears realized about a loved one.

There was a recent news story about a skull found in the garden by builders doing up a house, SOCO cordened off the house and a full investigation started.
It was examined by forensics and found to be about 500 years old!

I wasn't saying it for a laugh. A professor I had in college had a skull on his shelf in his office.

I don't want a fake one. Like the one dolan baker is on about. No one is going to care about a 500 year old one.

Where i live there is one in our yard, examined and believe to be from famine times, is still there. My mam had a blessing said over it, and then built a bathroom on it. :oNo choice really. Loads around our area as there was a workhouse in the town, there is actually a mass grave (field) with just a little sign in the hedge as to what's in it. No plaques or anything to comemerate it.
