I actually like Cowen.. just a pity he belongs to FF. He has a far more charismatic and likeable personality than Enda Kenny anyhoo

    Biggins you mean Britain.

No need to be pedantic. Britain is just the English state extended and renamed to get Scottish cannonfodder to fight for the new English state named Great Britain.

Iluminati to a man (and a women). :D If they'd all stop chasing after ancient codexes, scrolls, grails, crystal skulls, Covenants of the Ark and Excalibur, they would be able to concentrate on the job at hand such as running the country.

No, Britain would be right as its THEIR parliament that is insisting that they have a right to Rock all, is it not?
Great Britian would be the extension and would include the Scottish parliament?

imagine the insult if he got the mayor job

Nothing would surprise me. It was Dublin voters who, after all, repeatedly elected Burke, Lawlor and Haughey. Although it was nice to see his brother rejected in the local elections in his constituency in 2009. There could be hope yet.

Amen. Well said. Bertie Ahern should be treated as a pariah by any self-respecting citizen of Ireland, not as a "character" or any of that offensively benign rhetoric.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Just had a browse of the Wiki article on Rockall (worth a read -fascinating stuff), and the Icelanders don't actually claim the rock.

You right in a way but they do claim the shelf it sits on so its part of their whole claim.

Some guy apparently put a plaque on Rockall a few weeks back claiming it for Britain. A guy wrote into The Irish Times giving out about it saying the Irish should go over and put their own plaque on it.
