    Hi,

This wedding is for 170 guests and not in a hotel, on private grounds so we need to supply the booze. Just wondering how much of the following would be needed?

    Bottles of Gin
    Bottles of Vodka
    Bottles of Bacardi
    Bottles of Whiskey

    and

    Heineken Kegs
    Guinness Kegs

    Thanks

How long is a piece of string?

Can you do returns on un-open kegs and bottles?

Maybe ask a bar man what he / she may think Also, not everyone might like heineken as the only beer choice. I know its hard to please everyone, but maybe consider bottles of beers? Miller seems universal to most people. Also consider all your mixers too for the spirits, juices/cokes/orange etc..!!

Anytime I've read recommendations it usually is
    -10 bottles beer per person
-1 bottle wine per person (2/3 white, 1/3 red)
-1 bottle spirits per 5 people (mix vodka, whiskey, rum, tequila etc)
-2 litres water/juice/coke (include sparking and diet) per person
    - don't forget ice, lemon, mint etc

Anytime I've gone by these guidelines I've had a fair bit left over but my lot are not big drinkers

ok first things first, are your guests big drinkers, or are they tea drinkers,
i work at wedding and i can see 2 sides,
a more refined wedding they wont drink alot, a dare i say less refined wedding they will drink you and your stock dry and want more, they wont do singles, they will do trebles,
you need to say this, limit pople to max a double of spirits,
are you getting draft equipment, or are you getting a company in to do this,
how many will be at a table, ie for how much wine, is it 12 0r 10,
a table can drink between 1 to 6 bottles of wine,
you would pour more hino, than guinness,
90 pints in a keg ish, depends whos pouring
19 shots in a spirit bottle, 9 ppl per bottle an thats a double each.
you need to put up a bit more info, ladies will go for the lighter drinks, and men do tend to go for pints, the over 30s, younger if they are younger attending will opt for spirits,
confused,, id put 4 bottles max for a table of wine, 2 of each
4 glasses of wine in a bottle, you can strech 5, but it depends if you have servers, im guessing you do if you have 170pax
the general guest will tend to fill up their glasses, so your not maximising your stock output.
will you have returns on the stock, thats the main question, and what time you serving to?
    ?????????
if you do buy what ever to your budget and when it runs out it runs out
normally about 15% out of 100 guests will stay on the vino, so you will need a surplus of wine after, but there might be some left over from other tables, so open when needed.
vodka, gin, would be the biggest then rum and whiskey,
hino would do most, and guinness in 2nd place.
so id get more hino than the blackstuff
i work for a company who does this at home and every wedding if different.
ive worked in many pub, restaurants, hotels, and miller is by far the worst seller,
hino, carls, corona are good sellers
if your going to get bottles, wil the place have fridges or will you be getting them.
    you dont want warm beer

We definitely need a bit more information. How long will the event last for? Free bar? Would the guests be big drinkers?

Sure, we could just say to budget for something crazy like 10 bottles of beer per person to be on the safe side but I'd imagine you're asking here because you don't want to be too far off!
