I am in a similar situation here. Just got UPC 15mb installed today. Here are my test results

    20327534.png

That is a massive packet loss 58% No difference between LAN cable and wireless connections. Any Ideas please?

Pingtest.net reacts badly with irish isp's.. try going into command prompt and typr ping www.heanet.ie you'll get more accurate results from that.. Post your results here out of interest..

I'd have to argue with that, and to be honest thats BS.
    20354176.png

PInging from command prompt may give you the actual ping alright, but will give you very little indication as to the quality of your line.
ssa2010 - Thanks guys. I just disabled my modem firewall and bingo!

This should be stickied in fairness. The amount of people that post with the same problem, and its the routers firewall 99.9% of the time causing the issue.

A simple google re: packet loss would give you this answer. (not criticising you BTW, just that its very common, and disabling the firewall nearly always fixes it).

If you're with UPC, iirc there is no password, just click 'ok' and it will let you in. You can then of course chose a password yourself.

    Hope this helps :)

I seriously couldn't be happier with UPC right now...I posted a week ago of getting speeds of like 80mb and then over 100mb and a week later I'm still getting high speeds. Now up to 170mb.
    878190435.png

TBH i highly doubt your really getting these speeds, what anti virus do you use? i only as this as i used to have kasperkey and it used to tell me on speedtests that i was reciving anything from 40-80mbps, and all this over a ADSL line lol

so id check out that if i was you

edit also try this speedtest insted and copy and paste the info

Perlico wireless Home Broadband, North county Dublin.

Originally signed up for 1MB, got a letter a few months ago saying we were automatically getting upgraded to 3MB for free, but according to my account details, we're still on 1MB. I've e-mailed them for clarification.

UPC 15Mb package installed about an hour ago:

    20867080.png

Pretty chuffed I must say, fingers crossed for continued figures like those. I migrated from VF (Ex BT Up To 8Mb), the line only gave me about 5Mb. Got rid of sky into the bargain, got a cheaper package from UPC & channels for an extra bedroom too - halved the monthly tv/bb bill & can now tell Eircom bye bye line rental. Yes, today is a good day :pac:
