Cost of gassing up aircon (merc)

I was quoted €180 for gassing up the aircon on an old clk 230.

Now I have seen ads for lads who'll come out and do it at the house for €80.

The price was from an independent specialist and he gets someone else in to do it.

Just wondering if there is much to it and if I am better off going with my regular mechanic?

Not helping I know but in Kwik fit in the UK they do it for free!

I thought you could buy a can of that gas in halfords and plug it in yourself...

I've no clue on the cost or what to do but it involves draining and then gassing.

used those guys to get an 2000 S320 regassed and checked for leaks, €120 and took about an hour, shivered all the way home it was that cold in the car.

theres a place in the Greenouge industrial estate in Newcastle that do it cheap (€50 I think, will have a look for the voucher later), its a special offer they're running at the moment.

I asked one of the lads in Halfords and he told me your better off going to a garage, theyre cheaper these days
