    not a great pic,nut it's on the little trail between the square tower & Ferrycarrig hotel, which incidentally is closed.

    I remember seeing that as a child when i used to walk that trail. I was always too afraid to go check it out though. I have no idea what it is but someone once told me it was an escape route from the castle.

    had the kids with me so couldn't really check it out, went back a bit but couldn't tell if it was blocked off

    oh i cant wait to check that out, how far up the trail is it? is it as obvious as the pic suggests?

    it's not far along the trail & the trail is pretty short anyway, yeah it's pretty obvious
