I don't actually have it yet, but it has been paid for! \o/

I tried this dress on in awear in Limerick a while back and really liked it, never got around to buying it though. I remembered that the sales started recently, decided to have a nose on the website - and it was reduced, and in my size. Also, my mother insisted on buying it for me! Yay for pretty new clothing!

Perhaps you found it overrated, but that's only cause it took you this long to play.

If you'd played it before it acquired it's legendary status and remember that the game is now two and a half years old (my goodness!) you can see how others who hold the game up as epic feel that way.

Just because I have only played it now doesnt mean I wouldn't have changed my mind if I thought it was an ok game or an amazing game. I still would have thought it was an ok game. I would have been happy to pay the €60 when it was first released though. I have found games overrated after completing them soon after their release, Gears of war is one of them. They hype machine around that game was ridiculous prior to its release.

Besides, just because it's old doesn't mean its any better or worse than when it was first released.

Gears 1 was a masterpiece in my opinion, Gears 2 wrecked it though, completely destroyed the dynamic by nerfing the shotgun and buffing the chainsaw. I was so HYPE for gears 2, I was at the midnight launch and got the special edition and everything and it was so disappointing. Not bad as such, but much worse that I though it would be. And online was a shambles.

The game itself doesn't get better or worse, but the systems which it popularised ("psychic" powers, dystopian destroyed world, story-telling method)** have since been pillaged by other lesser games and may seem a bit stale if you're playing the game only now. Also, the graphics have aged ever so slightly.

I agree that the game isn't a masterpiece, it has very little replay value and the shooting mechanics can get stale, but I still wouldn't use the term massively over-hyped. Despite the flaws, it's still an excellent title.

** (PS: Before you point it out, I know it wasn't the first to do these but it brought them into the limelight)
