The game itself doesn't get better or worse, but the systems which it popularised ("psychic" powers, dystopian destroyed world, story-telling method)** have since been pillaged by other lesser games and may seem a bit stale if you're playing the game only now. Also, the graphics have aged ever so slightly.

I agree that the game isn't a masterpiece, it has very little replay value and the shooting mechanics can get stale, but I still wouldn't use the term massively over-hyped. Despite the flaws, it's still an excellent title.

** (PS: Before you point it out, I know it wasn't the first to do these but it brought them into the limelight)

In fairness I think all they really did was switch it from ROLL THE DICE SHOTGUN to CHAINSAW VACUUM OF DEATH. CAPS

I remember looking forward to Gears 2 hoping they'd fixed the horrible mess that was online mode. It's too bad they had to go and make it worse by adding crap matchmaking and throwing in what they called "client side hit detection" which somehow worked the complete opposite way.

No pictures, but I went into River Island today, prepared to fork out a crazy amount of money for a pair of shorts I reaaaally wanted, and found them on sale for €12! \o/

Also got a pretty cream skirt, which will be my 'nice' skirt. Yano the way people always keep an item of clothing up for special occasions? I could never do that. My sister bought a pair of jeans two years ago and hasn't worn them cause she 'doesn't have anywhere to wear them to'. Gaaaaaah.

That's ridiculous. I bought a t-shirt and a jumper today in TK Maxxx because I had no clean jumper or t-shirt.
