Richard, Richard, Richard, havent you learnt that list style thread which you routinely start will always get locked.

That scene in Doom was a fantastic piece of cinematography and the highlight of the movie for many. I can't think of any of hand which ape the style but I do recall a number of films doing a FPSesque sequence.

There was a short scene in High Plains Drifter that did this that was pretty cool.

I think there are bits in the movie Gamer done in the fps way where one guy is playing a real live action shooter by controling someone else.

The shoot out in alone in the dark is hilarious..

    But more third person ;D

And yeah the kickass scene in kickass is alot like the doom scene above, even the way the gun bobs with the camera, it looks awesome if done well, they should try it in more movies :D

The fight scene in oldboy with Daesu and his hammer is a pretty good sidescroller

An entire film shot in a first person perspective sounds like a horrible idea.

Maybe because it's not first person? Great scene, I agree.

As in first person perspective?...any movie like that out there?...kinda like what they did with Doom?

There's a few minutes worth in Kickass. I love the way she reloads (35secs in) just like a FPS shooter.

Yeah at least the first half an hour or so is first person, and works as a superb storytelling device. Possibly the best example of a voiceover in action too!

Many of the 'handheld' films like Cloverfield, Blair Witch or Rec could surely be considered first person? They break it on occasion by turning the camera around or whatever, but they come closest to catching a character's perspective for an extended amount of time.

Right, so, the bit where the bomb goes off close by and the sound becomes muffled can be explained how?

theres a few shots from Hanks perspective alright, it doesnt last long though, and plenty of movies have done the same thing, wouldnt really call that a
    "1st person" sequence though

At around 4:42, we're witnessing the action through his "eyes". It's a series of shots though, not a whole sequence.

Did Hitman have a couple? I recall one scene which pretty much mirrored gameplay.

"Brainstorm" (1983) has quite a few POV sequences in it. Definitely worth a watch regardless though.
