As a nation, we're seen as a soft target and ideal prey for this kind of thing. There'll always a band of innocents that get behind someone or something who'll take them for a jolly jaunt down bullsh!t boulevard.
Next thing, they're on the Josephine Duffy Show whipping up a storm and he's egging them on.

I do however feel sorry for the children in this case, it'll be fairly distressful stuff for those two wee souls.
We should do what the Australians do - Have a list of requisite professions, and only those with the skills presently required are accepted. If your not needed its goodbye.

Slightly off topic, but the country not willing to accept the asylum seeker is often criticised, however the focus should really be on what exactly is happening in countries, who for decade upon decade, cannot get the house in order.
It beggers belief how a person like Robert Mugabe remains in power after the atrocities perpetrated in Zimbabwe.
A fella like that should be taken out by the powers that be in the general interest of the poor souls at his mercy.
Recently read an interesting book regarding the thoughts of Noam Chomsky, and it's a little frightening to read of the control that a select few have on world order...., and so the bould Robert was probably left in peace for strategic reasons.

many of these Nigerians come from middle/upper middle class backgrounds. they live in large detached villas many with servants.
they are very well educated. they know how to exploit/manipulate our asylum system. (there are actually courses in Lagos University specialising in this!)

i know this 'cos my girlfriend's cousin is married to a Nigerian in London.

    they're laughing at us.:p

    And that would be because......?
The Department of Justice makes the remarkable claim that “the Irish asylum determination system compares with the best in the world in terms of fairness, decision-making, determination structures and support services for asylum seekers including access to legal advice.” Would any of its clients concur? But this State certainly excels in one notable regard, its remakable rate of asylum rejections. Of 6,560 decisions last year only 395 or 6 per cent were positive, less than a quarter of both the EU average or that of the UK.

Its a shame you didn't point that out to the person I was responding to.

It is a good point to make - how much are these scammers costing the country? Wouldn't that money go a long way to defraying cuts to civil services? Why is no one speaking up?

The lying scammer is now on her way to the European courts to try and force us to keep her.

And who is paying for the legal gravy train she is riding?

    Us.

How much do you think this has all cost? hundreds and hundreds of millions I expect.

Not only this but it is fueling racism.

Why aren't these asylum seekers, given that they travel here via another EU country, being returned immediately to their countries of origin?

I read a great article by a chap Cormac Lucey in the Irish Daily Mail yesterday - I looked for it on the net but can't find it - well worth reading "This tide of fake claims for asylum is an insult to us - and harms real refugees'

It would be popular given debate of figures - like 95% of them are scammers draining our economy, instilling racism into our community, when we can return them to the other EU countries from whence they came or refuse to receive them in the first instance.

It's time that citizenship meant something. Us first. Its not racism its realism.

Hows that exactly when they claim, claim, claim, and then push through illegimate claims costing time and money not unlike this lying scammer Pamela Izevbekhai.

At least she's not like the other chaps trying to find a foolish Irish girl to impregnate and claim residency...

Bigotry the old chestnut... we wish not to be raped so we are bigots, rascists or something else emotionally linked to be tarred with.

The fact is that there is a small number who actually turn out to be true refugees whilst they cost us a fortune via upkeep and legal processes. They are scammers. Unfortunately they increase rascism as most people tend to link coloured people with these scammers because they are in the vast majority ie 94 - 95 %

This country is bollocksed because there are too many do gooders with too much time on their hands.

These scammers need to be removed from the country we can no longer afford the indulges of do gooder liberal green ar$eholes directing governmental policy whilst the rest of us are working our asses off to pay for them and keep our families.

    Scammers out.

yes how do you like it - the country is being raped by these scammers - approximately 6000 of them.

Hope you laughed hard and out loud - obviously well off compared to those less well off and less well kept than the scammers ....

No one mentioned 'forced' - the lure of rumoured big cocks, easy money (provided by us tax payers) and running agianst the wind... many teenagers are lured...

why bother with appeals? I don't get it personally. 95% of them turn out to be scammers. In Sligo the scammer centre is right beside an economically depraved estate well below the poverty line - Cranmore.

How much does it cost to keep 95% scammers in theri culture - €300 haircuts, cultural cooking, creches, living expenses, dole etc.

People in Cranmore can't afford to buy a newspaper yet they see these scammers kept in the best conditions and with enough money to buy cars and take out their lady friends...

Too many do gooders not enough governmental stance but then they would rather play to the do gooder **** than do the right thing move them along and have enough money for handicapped services, community services and other civil services and ye all wonder why many lower earners despise coloured?

Its not racism its being thrown to the wind because we are not some sort of victim.

Perhaps I should paint myself black and claim refugee status or move into a caravan become a criminal and claim I am a traveller I am sure I would be better off than approaching the dole office trying to get the dole and claim benefits to feed myself and my children.

Where would the do gooders be then for me and my children?
