proper pdf to epub conversion

Hi, I converted some pdfs to epubs so I could read them properly and easily in Aldiko as opposed to a pdf viewer but the conversion has it so you have two pages intertwined in each other so it is impossible to read and follow along. Is there any good free convertors that work properly? Thanks in advance.

have you tried Calibre - its a free ebook library + converter.

The size of the PDF e.g. A4 and whether it was created as a scanned image seem to affect the outcome.

I used Calibre - but I will try those options and see if it affects it.
