Have this Lappy about 4+ years and shes served me well but now I have the battery LED (on the right hinge) blinking. Blinks 4 times orange then once green, the battery indicator (on the actual battery) has LED's 1, 3 & 5 which according to my vast internet searching it means my battery is fecked.

Question is...how do I stop the LED from blinking?

I know the battery is fecked, it only holds charge for about 20 mins, but I'm cool with using AC all the time, its just that blinking is driving me mad! Any one know how to stop it?

Perhaps it's a bit drastic, but you could pop open the laptop and disconnect the cable connecting the flashing led to the motherboard?

Well I'd be more inclined to just stick a bit of duct tape over it than crack her open again, but was hoping for a "switch off" solution.

Ahh duct tape! is there anything it cant solve?!

just take the battery out of the laptop and use it without one.

Yeah my 9300 has been like that for a few years, I only ever used it plugged in. But there is no way to turn off the lights, as was said above the only thing that will stop them flashing is to remove the battery.
