Sigh. I wish. I would be a happy camper if they actually 'nearly died'.

I just wonder how come somebody didn't kick him while he was down and finish the job. The scenes would be incredible, half the country in mourning and half the country celebrating as if we won the world cup. A man can dream

1/2 of Jedward were nearly killed yesterday.

    http://www.rte.ie/ten/2010/0705/jedward.html

18-year-old Edward Grimes was brought to hospital yesterday with a suspected broken leg after he injured himself on stage during a performance for Channel 4's 'T4 On The Beach' with his twin, John.
The Daily Telegraph reports that the teen is being treated in hospital for his injuries which are believed to be either a broken leg or twisted knee ligaments.
The incident occurred while the duo were performing a medley of songs. Edward grabbed his leg after the fall and tried to get up to continue with the performance.
A spokerperson said "We think he's broken his leg and at the very least has badly twisted the ligament in his knee."
Their manager, Louis Walsh, said he was concern about Edward. He told the Daily Mail "It was live TV and that's what can happen on live TV. They were excited to be performing in front of 70,000 people and we hope he's all right."
i was nearly killed last week too when i broke my toe nail
Luckly it will grow back :)

    This.

Jut what I was going to say. Can't stand them either but fair ****s to him for continuing on. I could only imagine the pain he was in....sore dose!

He probably ended up doing more damage trying to continue on, if I broke my leg on stage I'd stop there and then. F*ck that, i'm not risking more injury to myself just to appear determined and professional !

Ok, I admit they are not the best by far but how are they different from Lohan, Spears, Hilton, Jordan, Miley Cyrus, Kim Kardashian to name just a few?

    No tits.

I was hoping he'd injure the leg even more after he continued..
I hope you injure your leg and then you will know what it's like to have a broken leg or maybe worse:mad::mad::mad:

I disagree. What is dancing and singing when you have the likes of Mary Coughlan
and Shane McGowan and Bono as singers. Then you have that sham, Boyzone,
where one can sing and the rest just tag along having a laugh.

Jedward can sing and dance, but most importantly, they can entertain and perform and are full of enthusiasm. They put on a show. I am not one bit surprised that one of them has been injured. The energy and bounce they put into their routines is unreal. I always noticed that from their X Factor shows, how full of bounce and lift and
    energy they were...

    Sorry, what????

Mr.Mackey said "Drugs are bad m'kay"...........maybe you should listen to him!

If they were real twins.....John would have had the leg pain!

    Pfft fake twins.

Toe nail will take about six months to heal.

    EDWARD'S INJURY- DETAILS REVEALED!

    Torn ligaments after Sunday's performance.

From Louis: "Following a fall during a performance at T4 On The Beach this Sunday, we can confirm that Edward has torn his knee ligaments and will require surgery on his injuries. He is expected to make a quick recovery and Jedward are determined to see out their album promotion and Irish tour commitments."

A statement from Louis on Planet Jedward, best wishes Edward for a speedy recovery

I completely agree with everything Biggins said, I'd much rather my children turn to something like what Jedward are doing then sitting at home on the dole like some many students fresh from school or college at doing at the moment, because they have heard there's a recession so can't be bothered even trying to look for a job.
Would you encourage your children to try to break into the entertainment industry if they had no discernible talent and were unlikely
    to get anywhere?

John and Edward Grimes got a very, very lucky break. Most people like them don't get anywhere, and I'd imagine in most of the other universes the twins would be in the same boat as the students you've described, except with stupid haircuts.

Looks like he took the term "Break a Leg" a little too literally...I hope no-one else in this thread has said that joke already.

Anyway, no harm done, there are a lot of other people who have harder professions and get paid much less that suffer life-crippling injuries. One of my cousins broke an arm, smashed his jaw and I'm not sure what happened to his eye but that was pretty much done in as well (he can still see though).

Soon enough he'll be back on his feet, selling himself out to Abrakebabra, making terrible music, and trying pretty much everything to re-kindle his dying popularity and career.

I would encourage them to try anything that was non-harmful to themselves to be honest.
Only by self-discovery are some willing to accept their limitations. Ma/da or others telling them they do not have the necessary skills sometimes is perceived as "well your only saying that because..."

Me too, I'd freak out on the spot.

Well, he didn't break his leg thankfully but doing ligament damage is just as sore.

Ligament damage actually can take longer at times to heal than a broken leg/body bone by the way.

Then it would have been a lie.

Perhaps "Bedward" would have been more accurate. Either that or "Bentward" , tho that could have been open to multiple meanings.

    I'm betting he got up and kept going in case Louis Walsh had seen this;

I would be delighted for them to be as driven, motivated and hard working as Jedward are about something they are passionate about rather than running them down and telling them they are not good enough. If they didn't get anywhere, are least they would have tried.
Many have tried and failed (through x-factor and other avenues) to gain the sucess that Jedward have, the boys are living the dream, they may or may not have the staying power, I think it's great to see them suceed, they are clean living boys and causing no harm to anyone so do not see any reason for people to be so bitter towards them other than jealousy. If you don't like them, say nothing, if you do like them, support their music sales, simple as!

Word has it that he jumped off the stage into the crowd thinking the fans would break his fall. The fans said fcuk this and moved so he would hit the ground.

Look at the video clip and you will see this is clearly a rumour! Although they did do this at Croke Park and the crowd were there to carry them!!

I wouldn't go so far as to wish them serious harm, infact, I hope he (whichever one it was) makes a speedy recovery. Maybe, if all goes well, they can get a support slot with Justin Bieber when he plays North Korea. ;)
