    Hi all,
Im thinking of buying a unit which has a GSM modem in it to send texts. there shouldn't be many texts been sent throughout the year, maybe 20 or so every so often.
which prepay sim would be best to use in regards to having to top up? Would want the one which has the longest period without topping up and also the ability to top online as the unit will be away from the house.

    also a requirement is:
A normal SIM card will do the job. The only thing you need to do is get the service provider to make sure it is data enabled and get the relevant numbers for that. The easiest way is to contact the service provider and ask for a data enabled SIM card.

    any help would be appreciated.

    Easy answer its o2

You need to make a chargeable transaction ( a call or text) every 6 months to keep the sim active. So a fiver topup could well last you a few years.

would second davy here too. don't worry about the data enabled bit, it should work out of the packet for you.

if you need connection settings you can find them here.
