Hah, I just got 'Castlemania - Chronicles' for the ps1.

And it wasn't a typo as he called it 'Castlemania' again in the auction.

Got this Commodore Amiga A600 yesturday, it is in absolute concours condition as you will ever see one of these in. No yellowing, completely unmodified with factory protective warranty seal still in place. Always wanted one of these to see what the hype was about. Swapped my old PS2 for it..

Yep it is something I always wanted, but in the day my parents could not afford to give me one. Have to go to pc world tommarow to get a "Null modem serial cable" for it, so I can connect it to my pc and transfer aload of games onto it

Nice! That game seems to be PAL optimized. Gives me a rolling picture when I try to play it in 60hz.

Seems like a few of the later MD games were like that, Just had a go there, I think it is too, Alien Soldier the same

Alien Soldier is PAL optimized too yeah. But I can get it running in 60hz if I switch at the right time. Similarly to SOR 3.

Samurai Showdown though never works, no matter what I do!

Picked up a PSone with LCD screen today. From the same guy Augmerson got his. I can't believe the quality of the LCD screen. The games look amazing!

Was dropping a friend home in Tallaght today so decided to drop by the square on my way back. Went into the xtravision clearance shop and picked up:

GBA AC adaptor set - 99c
    GBA Link cable - 99c

Both are brand new and official

Xbox dvd remote - 99c Again brand new and official

and Nightshade on the PS2 for 99c. No idea what the game is about as it's just the disc.

Worth having a look if you're in the square. They have a basket at the counter full of loose PS2 games all for 99c and surprisingly there's a quite a few decent games there.

Also got Halo 3 but don't tell retr0!

Hehe, just dump the basket on the counter :D

I would have bought more but I didn't. Why? I do not know.

I got a few retro sports games this week.

I got FIFA in a trade from someone on adverts.ie. They took a copy of the original Wipeout. Both ISS Pro and Virtua Racing 32X are from eBay.

Couple of things I've gotten over the last few days.

    Official ps1 Mouse -

    DSC_0164.jpg

Mouse connected up to my PSone with LCD screen. Feels like I'm using a really odd laptop!

    DSC_0170.jpg

    Sealed copy of Tempo.

    DSC_0165-1.jpg

    DSC_0166-1.jpg

This is an odd one. I'm not sure what a factory sealed 32X NTSC game should look like. There's a hanging tab under the shrink wrap which lead me to believe it had been resealed.

However, why would someone reseal a game only to sell it for a fiver? And not even mention in the auction that it was sealed or even had a box?

He also had a good few more.

I reckon there was a box of them found in a warehouse somewhere.

Just got a nice haul today, I'll post up pics later.

I got a dreamcast and the sides are slightly yellowed, so whats the best way to get that off?

    anyone here got some tips?

Unfortunately yellowing like that is caused by the plastic itself changing colour. It's the same with some Super Nintendos. There's no way of getting it off.

Unless of course it's just niccotine from being in a smoking house which you can scrub off. But then the whole thing would be yellow and not just the sides.

Only way would be to sand/grind down past the yellow colour, or spray-paint the chassis.

Just to nip the old yellowing->cigarette smoke theories in the bud, here's a link to a detailed and well-researched article I was reading a couple of weeks back.

That's a really good article and I was actually looking for a link to it when I was making my previous post :D

Most of the Snes consoles I've come across suffer from this :( I do have a Super Famicom that is still lovely and grey though. I reckon as it's made it this long without discolouring it'll probably stay that way.

You do get the odd niccotine stained pieces of hardware though. I remember about ten -15 years ago my aunt gave me one of their old pcs from the office. Thing was dark yellow from people smoking.

Couple of hours later it had scrubbed up perfectly.

Just met up with MontgomeryClift in town and got this baby -

    dreamcaststick.jpg

It's been modified with seimtsu parts. I've only used it for a few minutes but it's an absolute joy.

    Nice one o1s

I did some sanding to my new DC, got it looking good without taking too much off the modem is still a little yellow but i dont really midn that much, more than likey i'll be picking up a few more consoles with games anf stuff.

You managed to get some of the yellow off by sanding? Nice one.

How about just respraying it? There's a really really matt spray paint we use for spraying airsoft guns called Krylon. It gives a lovely finish. Never thought of using it on consoles before. Might give it a try on my Dreamcast as it's a bit yellow too. Hadn't noticed that before :(

well wet sandpaper, really fine, wetted in a fairy and milton mix, seemed to do a nice job

Excellent! I'll give that a go before spraying the thing.

In my excitement of getting that stick I completely forgot that I picked up Bombastic for the ps2 today after work. Was leafing through ps2 games and that stuck out. Looked at the back - 'It's the same as Devil Dice on the ps1? wtf?' Devil Dice is worth a few shillings and is a good game too, so I bought it. Seems this one isn't worth anything really. Ah well, if it's anything like Devil Dice it's worth the €8.00 I spent on it. .

VGA box arrived for my DC today :)
Now I gotta go cable digging :( Oh I hate those cable boxes

Heh, the ever important cable box. I have a pretty epic one inside. People give out about it..until they need a cable of course!

Just picked up a Trio Linker II. Lets you connect ps1/ps2, gamecube and Dreamcast pads to USB.

Mainly to use that sexy new stick with MAME! Can also connect 3 pads/sticks up to it at once. Although it'll also let you use it with a ps3.

Growing up in the late 90's as very much a Nintendo 64 kid, I finally got my very first PS1! You can now feel the tension in the room been it and the N64.......let's give it another decade before I get a Saturn :D

I'd put up pictures, but I don't think anyone really wants to see a picture of a Playstation. They weren't exactly rare....:)
