Missed call from a 4 Digit number?

Hi guys, woke up today to find a missed call from a 4 digit number? I know 5's are premium text lines but I've never seen a 4 digit before? Is it a glitch or what? Thanks, Lethal.

Likely to be the person's extension number.

when someone is using skype (or other similar programs) to call mobiles the number that appears on the phone is usually similar to this i think

Lots of companies have this , as Victor says its the person's extension number.

i got a call on Fri about an NTL installation from 8904 or something like that. So NTL maybe? def a company extension number though im thinkin.
