mouse scroll keeps chnage to volume control

    my mouse scroll keeps going back to a scroll for pages and then a volume control ive also 2 buttons on my mouse for flicking back and forward between pages in explorer or firefox ect which they are changing to a track control to flick trough music please help its head wreakin

    Go into your mouse settings and see what they are set at, details here

    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/personalize/mouse.mspx

    If this doesn't work there maybe a custom control for your mouse, if so it will be listed in the control panel and added on to the standard settings as detailed in the link above

    looked in there couldnt find anythin is there any prog that has something in it that has a few tweaks for the mouse or somethin like that im usin a wireless usb if that has anythin to do with it no hardware needed for the mouse or software just plug the mouse into the comp

    Under the hardware tab there might be a button to custom properties for your mouse, if not there should be an item in the control panel with your mouse manufacturer name and settings there. If not have a look at the programs in your start menu and see if there is a option for your mouse there.

    When did it start
    Did it always work like that or just suddenly?
    Did anything significant ( new software, new hardware, update, playing around with settings) happen around the same time of it.
