Medicals should be out soon and we find out merit placings in September.

    Well done princess deity.

Jay Man, it is very interesting you say this as I'm sure someone recently said they had spoken to psni and were told that getting the vetting forms quickly was a positive indicator. (It would make sense only sennding vetting forms and medical date out in order of score/merit placing as far as possible to keep costs down.)

Thanks for calling appointments and posting what you were told Jayman. Yet it is at odds with what someone was told by appointments only a few days ago - I think one would need the wisdom of Solomon to make sense of it all. I certainly don't subscribe to the view that the earlier you get vetting = the better you have done. Look at Monday -5 People on the boards got vetting papers ( that we know of ) and all from the Republic , don't tell me that those 5 all happened to have almost identical scores.

Just saying what I was told. Feel free to ring appointments to confirm or maybe you'll get a different story lol..

Yeah I totally agree delancey, was thinking exactly the same. Six actually. Two from the South (one not a boardie) in the same group as me both received vetting forms on Monday gone also. So including me thats three that we know of in same group just.

Wanadrum - have you got your vetting yet ? I ask because if your vetting forms arrive while you are away then you have only 2 weeks to return them otherwise your out of the competition

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 684 ✭✭✭wanadrum

I have not got the forms yet, but I will have my parents checking regularly.

Does anyone have the phone number so i could ring and let them know that I will be away??

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,451 ✭✭✭Delancey

Im not sure if a phone number is available for the vetting dept - I could PM you the e-mail address ? A letter / sheet they send with the forms says clearly that if they don't get the forms back within 2 weeks your name is removed from the process so it probably would be wise to let them know.

Please pm that to me, thanks. Anyone know any phone Number I could call to discuss it? Does it neet to be vetting specific?

Apologies in advance folks, boredom has hit me tonight due to there being feck all on tv, so did some rough numbers to pass 5 mins :D:D

Assuming all groups have the same capacity of 12 people, 2 sessions per day, in 2 locations = 48 people per day
Assuming ACs don't happen over the weekend = 240 people per week
Earliest date I can find on here for an AC is the 6th May, so assuming they started the beggining of that week means they've been going 8 full weeks not including this week = 1920 people done so far
Going by cesc's numbers posted a few pages back of 2400 people going through to the AC leaves around 480 left to do it......
Meaning there's probably about 2 weeks of ACs left :D

    Sorry, I do love numbers!!

Think your spot on Mrs! latest AC iv heard was 9th July, I assume Deloitte will be off for a week or so in July just to annoy us!

Deloitte will be off permanently now :(

Despite the situation now...you still have to put up one final list, just for good ol times! And also so I can finally see a pass beside my name on it :D means feck all now but I've waited so long for it!

"The department has asked all the areas that it funds to produce plans as to how it would make cuts against two scenarios, 5% year on year and 8% year on year," he said.

"We have not asked anyone to make any level of cuts for 2011 on because the budget outcome is not yet known."

Does anyone know how they expect to get anyone in from the South when the deadline for Vetting is March11. Sure Vetting in South takes at least a year.

Just read this article on Belfast Telegraph site:

    http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/local-national/police-budget-to-be-cut-by-pound1m-a-week-14863232.html

I'm most concerned about the part "Increasingly tight police finances has also meant that recruitment to the force has had to be frozen."

Do you think this will have an effect on the current campaign or is this just what was expected from AC pass letter saying that this would be the last large intake?

Still waiting on vetting forms too.

Ah well... maybe I could be a fireman :(

Thanks pluginbaby.Blanket, slippers and turn the heating up(high enough to defrost Walt Disney)
It was a very strange feeling opening the letter.I have always felt such a rush in the past followed by several swearwords and punching of the air when I have passed a stage. This time...quite different..Over the moon dont get me wrong but a little guarded. You know when you protect yourself against getting carried away.Evolutionary protection or just the world we live in now?....Or just this feckin process????

Last one ftw :D Think we'll certainly be the most grateful bunch of recruits they've seen if we get through this and are lucky enough to get the call. It'll make great coppers out of us all! (given the chance that is...)
