    Can someone explain to me how american divorce settlements work?

    Is it something to do with children and living expenses and what not? She more than like is gonna keep the house,so why the absolutely monstrous payout? Surely 100 million would allow her to lead an extravagant lifestyle for aslong as she wants?

    1. There is something seriously messed up when a guy can earn a billion dollars for being good at putting a ball into a few holes....and I'm talking about the golf variety of balls.

    2. Despite the fact that Tiger is a muppet, he made all that money, and not the wife. So I don't she how she is entitled to 50-70% of it.

    Not the only one, the story is total BS. $750m is almost all of Tigers net worth. $250-300m is a more realistic figure.

    Perhaps this should go in the "don't be embarrassed thread", but can somebody explain to me how she ends up getting this kind of money? Clearly it was Tiger Woods who earned this money, what entitlement does she have to it?

    Wow. In all my time on boards (which, admittedly, isn't as long as others), I genuinely haven't come across a more idiotic and misogynistic post than this. I think, at this stage, most of us can differentiate between trolling, joking, and being serious. And this post is the later. To be honest, I don't care who did what, and who got what. But when somebody has been caught rapid being a deceitful liar, they should pay. That you think his wife, who seemingly never cheated, but stood by her husband, is the whore of the relationship, shows you up as a shallow, morally idiotic person.     From what I've read, he is offering her a huge settlement that will come with an ironclad confidentiality agreement. If she were to disclose fully what happened in their marriage - which not only might include allegations about other women, but also performance-enhancing drug use, which would be far more damaging - she could potentially jeopardize his ability to ever attract a sponsor again. And there are currently stories floating around about Tiger's ties to a known provider of HGH.

    I'm sure she'll never enjoy her $750m that she was perfectly entitled to when she reads that gleep thinks she's a whore.
    If tiger wasn't prepared to pay it he shouldn't have married, shouldn't have rode a load of slappers and shouldn't have paid her off to not say anything.
