Interesting that all the folks that got Vetting Forms today are from the South - must be a batch job.

Well just done my AC there today (at last!) really don't know what to think of it. I'd imagine I've lost a brave few marks on communication because I kept forgetting what word I was looking for and couldn't think of different words so I basically rambled on and hoped they didn't notice :D

Found the role plays quite tough, one of them atleast I think went fine, the other two it just seemed like the actors really didn't give me much to work with and kept saying the same couple of sentences over and over again, tried to tease more out of them to give me something to play with and to get them to say what I wanted so I'd have a good comeback lined up but it just wasn't happening!
I did hear one of the assessors after the first one say "well she talked alot!" just as I walked out the door... Don't know if that's a good or bad thing

Written exercise, don't think it was too bad but I found I was running out of room for most questions and never got to finish my last sentence of the last ques :(

Sit. interview...well now...that I just don't know, I found it really hard having no participation from the 2 women at all, I'm too used to normal interviews and having input fired at me, so to sit there and ramble off for 5 minutes at a time about a question was very difficult for me!

Overall, I found it quite tough so I'm not holding up much hope for a pass!
Oh and the Deloitte staff were lovely I thought, I was suprised!

It's tough alright and I certainly found it harder this year than last year. It really is hard to gauge how you did so keep the chin up.

Well folks I am delighted to say I got my Pass Letter today but no vetting forms yet. I am from the south and I did the AC on the 24th of June and the pass letter was dated the 25th. So the waiting game begins. Beca do your magic on the list please ;)

Lol i bet i know the 2 actors your talking about!! they were a total nightmare at times, i wanted to ask them to stop repeating themselves and answer the questions!! :P i did manage to sort out 2 role plays so maybe only one actor/actress was a little akward!!

know what you mean about forgetting your words i was walking down the corridor and just before he opened the door i had to look at the sheet to remember my job role :o surprised i didnt forget my name :D

Hi Pluginbaby - I felt the same after my A/C - you will have passed no bother.
The whole thing felt so fake to me I found it difficult - most of all the sit. interview - talking about what you would do in a given situation.........two of the role plays I felt exactly the same.

damn i get sooo jealous hearing people receiving vetting forms :( when are you all thinking of givin the psni a bell for merit?

Me too. AAAHHHHH!!!!!! Hate this waitin!

Someone please re-assure me........just because we havent recieved vetting forms with-in two weeks of our AC, surely we are still in the game!

Bubbles of course we are still in the game......

Don't forget that people are still doing A/C - at present if what we've heard is true, then they are sending the vetting forms out to people who have performed particularly well - they can't possibly send them out to too many before all A/C candidates have completed the process.

Also there will be people who fail vetting or medical....

I think when we get our scores in August we'll be in a better position to give up hope or get more excited......

As I've said before, I see no reason why they didn't send scores with the pass letter to give some indication of performance.

true that, if they are able to say ''you've passed'' then surely they can say ''you've passed and your score was ...''

and yea i think we r all still in the game.. the way i see it is this: people who got basically unbeatable scores have recieved vetting...everyone else is still in it

its sorta like this...if everyone else left doin the ac scores above you you're dropped down the list if not then your chances remain higher...i just hope my score was high enough to avoid being dropped to many places!

Just to let you guys know at my AC yesterday the woman said there was still ALOT left to be done yet but never said any sort of time frame or anything, so I wouldn't be expecting to get a hold of merit scores for a brave while yet!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,451 ✭✭✭Delancey

I reckon it will be a small miracle if Merit listing is available anytime before September.

Apologies in advance folks, boredom has hit me tonight due to there being feck all on tv, so did some rough numbers to pass 5 mins :D:D

Assuming all groups have the same capacity of 12 people, 2 sessions per day, in 2 locations = 48 people per day
Assuming ACs don't happen over the weekend = 240 people per week
Earliest date I can find on here for an AC is the 6th May, so assuming they started the beggining of that week means they've been going 8 full weeks not including this week = 1920 people done so far
Going by cesc's numbers posted a few pages back of 2400 people going through to the AC leaves around 480 left to do it......
Meaning there's probably about 2 weeks of ACs left :D

    Sorry, I do love numbers!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 874 ✭✭✭cesc77

Now bear in mind those numbers were a very rough recollection of a campaign a few years ago and may vary slightly or considerably from this years.

I suspect I am in the tail end of those who still have to attend the AC as it was in the last couple of days before the deadline that I submitted my application.

Oh the numbers thing surely is an illness, pluginbaby:rolleyes:I am a fellow number obsessor!hmm deja vu...

I done mine on the 6th and I know someone who done theirs the week before me so possibly onlyone week left?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,451 ✭✭✭Delancey

Thanks for the number crunching pluginbaby - btw any no shows at your AC ?
Instead of watching the TV tonight which is utter crap I agree , I'm doing my Vetting Forms which are profoundly tedious and a serious test of desire for this job really stimulating and exciting.

Just the 1 no show at mine... that's one thing I never could understand is why so many people don't turn up for it, I mean the odd few, yes, would be unforseeable circumstances and whatnot, but the number of people on here reporting 3 no shows is amazing! Why go to the bother of doing the IST to not turn up for the AC

See now I applied quite early on, probably about a week after it was first advertised iirc and yet all my dates so far have been really late compared to the majority on here.
Just wondering with everybody else, was your group all people from the same 1 or 2 ISTs? Mine were, and we were all from the same area so made for decent enough bit of bant :D

Oh and I do remember reading a few figures posted a brave while back for the different stages but I can't for the life of me find them now, so if anybody remembers, feel free to amend it! I think 2400 was somewhere in the ballpark anyways, it was 2000 and something whatever it was...I'd imagine next week will see the end of them anyway.

Someone correct me if im wrong but I dont think the A/C's run five days a week.
    Isn't 4 days - Monday to Thursday???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 181 ✭✭B182

Also I woulda thought they ran 1 test centre a day

And on mine there was 3 missing thou only cause 2 were late so weren't allow in

It's definately 2 sessions each in 2 locations a day, atleast that's what the Deloitte woman told us!
Absolutely no idea though if it is mon - thurs...but that would make it approx 4/4.5 weeks remaining...I like 2 weeks better :D

edit: there's also a bank hol in there I'd imagine they weren't running...screw working it out again!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 181 ✭✭B182

Pretty pot luck then if u get a decent role actor or not then lol

Yup! Plus from what I could make out the actors on the day weren't doing just the one roleplay, one guy in my group had the exact same roleplays at the exact same time as me, so I had a guy for my first one but he got a girl for his... I figure that's why they give them generic names that could be either male or female so they can use any actor for any roleplay, just another little bit of uncertainty thrown in there for us to worry about eh?

I'm 90% sure my AC last year was on a Friday ?

Hey all im back on the radar, i had to ban myself from boards during the build up to AC as it was taking over my life (ALMOST) just for the record i had my assessment centre on friday, got pass letter yesterday so im still in the running :O)

Did some people get vetting forms with their results or did they follow a little later?

Congrats to all that have passed and good luck to all those still waiting to do theirs the day flys so fast your head will be spinning!!!

Have to agree with another poster the Deloitte staff were a very relaxed friendly crew.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 159 ✭✭fefe5

    Well done!!

I got my vetting forms exactly one week after my A/C, but it seems to vary with people getting them a few days later to a month later and some still waiting. Dont try and predict, and dont expect them - will drive you crazy!
I come home every day hoping to see medical forms in my mail, but am always let down when they aint there. Its hard not to get caught up in it all.

On the plus side, things are going A LOT quicker this year....:D

Rang appointments today to clear few things up.

Firstly if your not offered a place by March 11 then your not in. So if Vetting takes longer than that and you finish with a merit placing of number uno then your still out lol

Also receiving Vetting early doesn't necessarily mean you have a high score or offered a place if you clear medical and vetting. "A lot of it is guess work".

Hope that clears it all up for everyone :-D
