    I do not think it's used in an anti-Irish manner but just one of those expressions like 'paddy wagon' or "I was working like a 'black'".
    But that is also anti-Irish, inferring they are more likely to be arrested. Working like a black is not really inferring anything bad.

    You could start a better saying, like "having a brit" or "going for a brit".
