How 'normal' is your sense of humour?

I've found out over time that my sense of humour is, well, somewhat different than would be called 'normal'. I find things funny that others don't (hence 90% of my posts), and I find some things duller than watching paint dry even though many others are almost literally ROFLAO over the same thing.

So, what words would you use to describe your sense of humour?

    For me:

    Dark
    Twisted
    Surreal
    Sarcastic
    Aggressive

All of the above but add in sick.

I've found about three people who'll laugh at the "what's the difference between a prostitute and an onion" joke irl. :(

"I'm no racist but..." sums up most of my sense of humor.

My sense of humour is sicker than the plane to Lourdes.

Seriously sometimes I would rather see shock than laughter on people's faces.

Suffice to say I'm not a primary teacher anymore.

My sense of humour's obviously an acquired taste - I'm hilarious, people just can't see it.

Basically, it's a mixture of very mature and incredibly silly, with a little bit of dirtiness thrown in.

I find nearly everything funny - from crappy puns on AH, to racist jokes, to dark humour, light-hearted jokes, knock-knock jokes - basically anything that is funny, I'll laugh at.

Pretty dark and filthy. Depraved. Every day i used to make some people spill tea out of their nose with my wit. I believe to be funny, you cannot be afraid to offend. Just because its offensive to some people, doesnt mean its not very funny!

    ^^This.

I don't think people expect what I'm about to say, and I can do it with a straight face. I've been told I'm quick-witted and can hold my own if someone throws a one-liner at me. My mind is in the gutter too, and I can offend people who are a bit on the sensitive side. I honestly couldn't give a fuck though.

    Exactly the same, actually.

I'm often proud of my comebacks, they make me look good :pac:
I'm amazing at saying something with a deadly serious face too, often scares people but as long as I amuse myself, fuck em

"Black Humour" is not as abnormal as some try to make it out to be. "Oh my gawd! They Killed Kenny! You BASTARDS!"

I remember reading a novel written by Eric Idle, The Road To Mars: a SF story that featured an android (Carlton) who made an exhaustive study of human comedy. There's one section in which Carlton lists, in excruciating detail, the links between violence and comedy. You know, phrases like "I knocked 'em dead out there", "he was Corpseing so badly he couldn't speak", slapstick, and so on.

Or, as Mel Brooks said: "Comedy is something terrible happening to someone else". If you think South Park is horrid for what they do to Kenny every week, you need to see some (very NSFW) Happy Tree Friends episodes. Like this:

Or not, if you're sensitive or squeamish.

Government resting upon the will and universal suffrage of the people has no anchorage except in the people's intelligence.

Pretty normal, like everyone else I laughed my ass off at the classic comedy The Killing Fields.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,572 ✭✭✭✭brummytom

Oh I forgot the gayness and annoying-ness.

I take great delight in freaking out people by acting gay - I was on a 7 hour coach journey yesterday and spent most of it stroking the lad in front of me's hair, and pulling the girl in front's. Annoying people entertains me.

I've only just realised how much of a cunt I am

Are you 19? Because that's the last time in my life where I cared about how edgy and individual my sense of humour is. Show, don't tell.

I have a brilliant sense of humour. For example, my desk at work has a little "You don't have to be mad to work here.... but it helps!" sign on it. Also, I pretend to like bad movies.

Is it written in your own excrement? If not, it isn't funny.
