Stayed Sat night and headed home on Sunday afternoon. I had had enough of knobends blowing airhorns and revving side pipes at that stage.

The hilux is my latest hunting truck. Some machine, just needs a rollbar, some lights, mudtires, canopy and maybe a winch. Anybody know where to get some of these items. I can only seem to get chrome rollbars for newer jeeps, I want a black rollbar. Also what canopy other than an Ifor Williams is available? The trooper I just got rid of. Just wasnt worth doe'ing but great machine off-road and took some hardship.

Yes, lets have more please, proper big trucks and serious plant:D

Wirehairmax, like the Hilux, looks good in NATO green. Look at some of the suppliers on http://www.macks4x4info.com/ and http://www.milneroffroad.com/Default.asp?c=122558

If you still need help finding stuff, stick it the wanted section or start another thread if you've something that may be of interest to everyone rather than taking this thread OT;)

ya it was in ireland it was brought in from spain by epsa who were using it on the new motorway around moneygall, they also had a brand new 80 ton komatsu there, i had a few more pictures but lost them, i was showing them off one day when one of my friends who used to be a mechanic with komatse showed me a picture he had of his transit parked behing a 125 ton that he was working on, if it was a low roof transit it would have fit under the digger, a quarry about 2 mile down the road from me has another 80ton komatsu filling a crusher all day long, crushing upto 500 ton per hour, i've seen it a few times as we go hunting up around there but i have no pictures but heres a link that talks about it and has some pics http://www.mchaleplantsales.com/pdf/summer_08.pdf

    where were these tractors?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,884 ✭✭✭101sean

A few pics from Charleville which had the largest selection of classic trucks I've seen so far inc several that have featured in Irish Vintage scene. There were 100s of tractors but they're not my thing so I'm going to disappoint tractor fans.

I did take a picture of one tractor, Ransomes MG6. There were several of these and I wouldn't mind one myself

There were a lot of tractors inc the Marshall MP6 in this months Irish Vintage Scene. This year's theme was to get the record for the largest number of single cylinder tractors together, 145 turned up. There does seem to be a bit of competition among collectors to locate rare tractors, several there I'd never heard of.

Not quite in the same class as the crane above but the cause of much local excitement (and a long detour), crane bought in for replacement of Goolds Cross bridge south of Thurles.
