Not sure where to post this but maybe someone here could answer a question for me.
Someone asked me to type a thesis for them and they will pay me the going rate. I have never done this before and havent got a clue what the going rate is for typing. I could do with making a little extra money, but this will probably just be a one off. It would just be copy typing from hand written pages.
So, what should I say the going rate is? And is it per word, per page or per time?

€10 an hour sounds fair enough.

I'm not basing that on any in depth knowledge in fairness. It just seems fair imo.

I'd do it per page, as they may end up paying through their nose if you're a slow typist. Try typing todays newpaper, and see how long that takes, to give an estimation on how long it'll take you. Also, how bad is their writing? Can you read it? No point in reading illegible crap, and having to do a lot of corrections.

    Good point, thanks
